  1. Any good recommendations then chaps i am a rabbiting person at heart so no clubs which are shotgun only main reason is i don't own a shotgun never really been introduced into it brought up with all rifles many thanks. Nick.
  2. Thanks for the input i have already done this said i could do most evernings and some days with a heads up and all for free without shooting just to get experience but to no success and i have experience of knocking up pen digging dug out and chainsawing trees and still no takers thanks for the input though. Nick. This is brilliant its the first post that has made me laugh ha ha i could begin to picture your face as you struggled to say this thanks for the input. Nick.
  3. I am on the outskirts of Brentwood good man and not really chap the little spec of land has a handfull of rabbits on it unless i was to bring them on which would be great for me but bad for the land owner.

  5. Hi chaps in need of a morale boost as some of you guys know i have a very small permission which isn't good at all to be on. The land owner will only allow me to shoot over it which is great and i feel privileged but can be lonely at times i wouldn't mind if i was busy but the rabbits over there don't exists anymore. So as you can imagine i have been looking about to join people on other permissions hopefully find some nice land owners/shooters who don't mind me having a shoot with them or lamping buddy but of course i wouldn't ask for this until they know me well enough. That said i have knocked on more doors than i can remember rang so many golf clubs and to no a vale the land owner said they would happily give a reference to anyone who asks about me as he knows me well but because i haven't had a chance to meet other people mainly due to the fact i am the only shooter allowed over there no one knows me. So getting out with people or gaining new permission is ridiculously hard and this shooting game works as we all know unless your a friend of a friend or know someone close to the land owner/shooter you might as well go whistle as in this area Essex land is so precious and hard to come by because is so heavliy pressured by everyone here. Of course i will keep looking and i have meet some nice chaps (farmers) but everwhere i go they dont know me and of course they already have a group of people shooting who keep it to themselves which is understandable around here and concidering i wanted to get into a little bit of gamekeeping which life hasnt taken me that way i am doing badly on the shooting front lol. So chaps i am asking you to give me a morale boost to make me feel better and to keep knocking on them doors maybe share your past experiances on how you struggled to get your first permisson and if you didnt struggle and strolled into having a place to shoot please dont let me know it will only depress me. Up for a laugh. Nick. P.s. If you know anyone around the essex area looking for a shooting buddy / shooter please PM would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Next fishing trip booked and fast approaching only a matter of time before i get them rods in the water.

  7. If your from the south east of England i found it hard to believe that people wouldn't come out with espically if they say they are keen however that said by the sounds of it your permission sounds like you risk getting a good thrashing from someone lol maybe thats why they wont come out with you. Nick.
  8. Interesting, I will pop down there to have a look soon thanks for the heads up if memory serves me right that's the shooting school. Nick.
  9. Hi chaps my name is Nick I was wondering if any landowners / game keepers out there wouldn't mind letting me pop along and helping them with their duties as a gamekeeper. I am free most evenings and I can do some days with a heads up, I have some experience with game keeping but once shown the routine will be fine have built pens, topped up feeders cut trees and dug dugouts mainly and don't see kindly to trespassers on my permission or others. Have been shooting for many years .22 FAC and insurance. Main reason for this is I have always wanted to get involved and be a game keeper full or part but my life hasn't led me down that road and now I am looking to get experience with good people to hopefully make that jump back on track this is a free offer I am not looking for money if any one is willing and is not too far away please PM I will give you more details or meet at a pub for a chat first drink is on me many thanks Nick.
  10. Yh if they are keen then they should jump at the offer it is soooo hard to get even out with someone here your offering a great deal chap I am sure it will go soon enough someone is bound to see this shortly. Nick.
  11. I have a different problem in Essex I have a small permission here few acres and the land owner will only allow me to shoot not even a lamping budy I am the only shooter and I feel privliaged but it's not great fun on my own. And land around here is very hard to come by people are not that welcoming. Hope you find someone soon. Nick. (You could try a night vision set up its what I use.)
  12. Ahh well it's a cracking offer mate I would have loved to come give you a helping hand unfortunately it's too far but it should get peoples attention in no time. Nick. Ps it's about 160ish miles from me lol
  13. Hey chap sounds good where is Tiverton I have a feeling it's near Exeter. Nick.
  14. Good offer chap always makes me crack a smile when I see these offers too few are made by people with plenty of land, make sure they bring insurance though lol all kinds of people out there.
  15. As you say the best way to deal with this is to replace the floor. However if the damp is as you say minamal then you may be able to apply a liquid DPM before fitting a welded vynl to do this you will have to make sure the surface of the concrete floor is visably dry this can be done by putting in dehumidifiers until dry ish then you will have to apply FBall F77 to the concrete floor then when this is dry you will have to apply Fball P131 neat to the floor as a primer then you will have to put a finishing screed over that recommended you use Fball stopgap 300hd and apply about 3mm thick when dry you should have a floor which you could lay anything on and not worry about damp. That said it will probably cost as much as getting builders in to replace the builders screed. Anymore questions just ask. Nick.
  16. **** the rooms with the quarry tiles will be fine to go over them although if the subfloor is a little unstable I would recommend you screed it before hand to give you a level work space however the wooden floor with vynl tiles I would recommend that you ply the floor with a thick ply 18mm and up to ensure that there is as little movement as possible so the grout won't crack over time. Hint: Make sure that if you get a stone tile that it's not porous otherwise liquid like tea or coffee if spilt can stain the stone, this can easily be fixed though by sealing the stone once it's been laid but this will change the colour slightly like applying a clear stain to oak would bring the grain out so test it before you do so on a scrap piece hope this helps. Nick.
  17. It's mainly known as safety flooring amongst people and personally I don't. Mainly because I specialise in domestic flooring and safety floors are normally for commercial purposes e.g. Hospitals. That said I know how they work if you have any questions I could answer for you. Nick.
  18. Essex good man but you can't put a distance on good advice :-)
  19. Hello everyone when I am not out shooting I am a flooring specialist. Anything which goes on a floor I can help you with any problems I will see if I can point you in the right direction. Carpet Vynl Kardean Solid woods Screeds Liquid DPMs Amtico Laminates Engendered woods Ply Feather finishes Hard bording Nick.
  20. I would be tempted the weather isn't that bad tonight got to get out there push yourself you won't regreat it.
  21. Another cracking offer mate with offers like these all the time you might even tempt me into making the journey :-D Nick :-)
  22. Just got back from France fishing was brilliant with a catch of 3x high 40lbs

  23. Another thing to take into account is the distance and power, taking a long distance shots or with a low powered rifle could be the differance between clean kills or not, regardless if the shot is perfectly placed. That said I agree with spandit most critters will thrash a little it's the natrual reaction and muscle spasms. That all said and done, rifle about 12ft lbs and no more than 30 yards when taking a shot you will be fine. Good luck grey hunting Nick :-D
  24. Brilliant offer where are your fields though if you don't mind me asking? Nick :-)
  25. Agree with everyone, no harm leaving them only time I get them is if I am having them for dinner and I don't want it getting humped before hand :-s
