  1. Absolutely right, unlike the person who landed a pedestrian in hospital with severe head injuries and drove off - happened this Saturday in Chippenham. Someone must know who it is.
  2. Looks like a scam, but on the plus side a refreshing change from all those Nigerian princes looking to offload their wealth onto us
  3. A very different reply to the one I got from a licence officer when we moved here three months ago!! But if thats what the site says all well and good - did'nt want you to get caught out
  4. Oh you mean the cable service, was going to say same problem in my area. Even to watch tv over the internet on BBC Iplayer you do require a license
  5. I agree some cyclists seem to have a death wish and that the rules of the road do not apply to them. However as an ex biker and dispatch rider I think everyone should ride a bike or motorbike for one day in a city so they get an idea of how vunerable you feel. The times I was hit at junctions by people in their tin cans on their bl***y phones or the classic "Oh I didnt see you", I could of had a 15' purple neon sign above me and they still would'nt have seen me. Obviously there are good and bad riders and drivers, as Kes says some mutual respect would help, but it is still very sad for those families who have lost loved ones, especially this time of year with the festive season so close.
  6. I'm with you, though we do have youview. My kids are horrified when I tell them when I was their age we only had 3 channels OMG!!! "What did you do when there was nothing on to watch?2 they ask my reply we played and wait for it talked to each other - shocking.

I used to work for a company who dried houses out after floods etc. If you use a dehumidifier placed on the floor, try to use a fan (set on cold) near it, this will circulate the cold damp air which sits a few mm's above the ground and mix it with the warmer damp air, this will mean the dehumidifier will be way more efficient.
  8. Glad I could bring a smile to someones face today!!
  9. Should of got one from Ikea, would of cost couple of £100 and comes with an allen key.
  10. Obviously the huge majority of people on here appreciate and are grateful for the sacrifices many made on our behalf. But I think today is a good time to reflect also on what we have done with that hard earned freedom.
  11. Absolutely, I am not complaining just an observation, my uncle was in the Chindits and my Grandad the RAF, I am eternally grateful for what they did for us.
  12. Obviously today is remembrance day. Do you think all those millions from all sides who died in the world wars would look at Britain today with its "celeb" culture, teenage pregnancies, booze culture, greedy bankers, big brother society and not feel a little bit let down with the freedom they gave to us with their lives. If it was me, I have to be honest I would be feeling a bit bloomin' peeved!! Any I for one will remember them at 11am and say thank you as well as sorry we messed it up a bit!
  13. Was there today and you are right, nice friendly club. The Valley Clay Shoot near Marshfield is worth a look too, £15 for 50 clays, friendly bunch also.
  14. Yes have been to Barbury, my son Oscar has had a few lessons there. It is a very well run and organised club, excellent facilities, 50 sporting for non members is £18 so not that cheap, also I would nt turn up with a semi you might get the sort of looks like make you feel like a leper :-)
  15. If only my numbers had come up on the lotto tonight. Good luck with the sale.
  16. Hi jingles, Welcome to PW from a fellow shooter in Wilts. I mainly shoot clays now, finding permissions is sadly hard work. Good luck in your hunt for some, if you want info on any clay shoots just ask.
  17. As I say I am totally in favour of foreign aid, but I feel we should be provided with a breakdown of where and how that aid is spent. How does this rocket help Indias millions who live in abject poverty?
  18. I read with interest today that India have launched a rocket to go to Mars. As you are all aware this is not exactly a cheap thing to do, my question is, do you think a country that receives millions in aid to help its starving/poverty stricken people should be wasting money on this sort of venture? By the way I am totally in favour of countries such as ours helping those less fortunate. But I do think our "leaders" should be saying to them, hang on a mo' how can you afford this? (Bit like our HST project)
  19. Hi Adrian, Thanks for that, will definitely drop them a line, Valley was good, nice crowd and good mix of targets. Bloomin cold though!!!
  20. Hi Adrian, Thanks for the info, yes it was today and very enjoyable it was to! Okl Lodga at Lacock sounds interesting, do they have a web site? Googled it with no luck. Thanks
  21. Once the hype has died down may look at a PS4 in summer next year. We have a xbox 360 which works fine. As for the xbox one, what were they thinking! Did a 2 year old design it? It looks like a breeze block, also I am reliably informed the integrated kinnect thingy will gather info about your gaming habits etc etc and share them with who knows.
