  1. Hi - really interested in the Skeet/Skeet 2/Cyl - I have a Blaser with the Briley Spectrum, do you know if these are interchangeable? Cheers Pete
  2. Let me know if you have one you don't want Cheers Pete
  3. Fast and Loud - best of the motoring ones I think
  4. I've only had it done once - as part of the sale, certainly complete fettling in under a week, including RFD transfer time. I'd say give him a call - I've heard of him doing quite chunky work while people wait/watch Pete
  5. Ian has serviced mine - it's where I got it from, top notch bloke and incredibly thorough, he does all the Blaser warranty work - worth giving him a call Pete
  6. Another vote for the F3, had mine about 6 weeks - just a superb bit of kit, stock is off getting modified to fit can't wait! Back on topic, all guns are mechanical - so maybe should get it checked out, but I did think this wasn't possible on the Blaser Pete
  7. Hi - and Welcome My wife and I are in Bedford and shoot clays at Sporting Targets at least once a week, feel free to drop a pm if you need some company Pete
  8. Just to add - Robert at Blaser UK has been absolutely superb to me, couldn't be more helpful. I'd really recommend dropping him a line, love the gun too!
  9. i know Krieghoff regularly run come and try it days, where you can work through all the different options and run through the fit there. Ed Solomons has a hand in organising them, quick google should get you in contact with him Cheers Pete
  10. For anyone interested in this - I can really recommend the book Sniper One by Dan Mills, tells the story of a siege in Iraq from the point of view of a British sniper, cracking read!
  11. Hi Not a rude question at all. We bought a new Silver Pigeon from our local dealer, they had an unused spare stock in their bits drawer that we bought for (from memory) £100 - getting it cut down ( a lot to 12.75 LOP), new recoil pad and cast on the stock changed - that cost around £150 We were lucky that the dealer had a spare stock that he was looking to get rid of (it had a lot of cast on it so would be difficult to offload) Pete
  12. Second vote for just getting another stock and hacking it about We've done that on my wife's Silver Pigeon, means that when we sell it you don't have to sell it to someone similarly small - and also saves warranty issues P
  13. I think they're a really nice gun, only shot the demo - but felt very nice, stock fitted me very well and a good balance. For my taste - just too expensive, £5k just seemed a bit too much - firstly in relation to the other models and also to their competition. £5k is putting you in the new Blaser, Perazzi MXS etc - or used Perazzi, Krieghoff etc and for me it was a bit out of the idea price point if that makes sense. I ended up with a Blaser F3 which felt for me a little more 'special', but the RF is a superb gun and for a grand cheaper - I may well have been tempted
  14. Just one thing to add, not sure where you are - but Sporting Targets in North Beds have had an ultralight with a cut down stock for sale for a long time, used If that's anywhere near - you could demo and maybe try a low offer. P
  15. That last post is spot on! Tried everything for my (very petite) wife, ultra lights the lot. She was fine with the recoil, although I hated some of the balance! But it was the physical size of many 12 bores, not just stock length - but fore end width, stock thickness etc. She ended up with a Silver Pigeon 20 bore, which she had the stock heavily shortened and the cast change - and she shoots very well with it. Lots of other women have tried it and like the whole size too (steady!) - not just the weight. She now has a deposit in place on a 12ga Syren, when they ship in the summer. The most important thing is finding a gun she'll be happy to shoot 100 clays with, be that a 28b, a 20b semi auto or whatever - as the experience grows it'll all change anyway. I think a 20b semi auto is a great start, but not everyone enjoys the mechanics P
  16. Maybe the picture is straight and he isn't? Just a thought, we can all be too quick to judge.
  17. Actually just had a thought - if you're after used, I can recommend Neville Guns up in Derby, bit closer than Dorset - really nice people, I demo'd a number of guns up there with them and they couldn't have been more helpful. They have a pretty good stock list too Pete
  18. Just to add, I'm in Bedford - did my dealing with Mulliners over the phone. If/when I get a new one, I'd be going to Dorset!
  19. As someone who was in your position last year - that's the best advice. Find a gun that's comfortable to shoot - that will encourage you more than anything, look for a brand with good resale (i.e. the brands listed already) and off you go. I picked up a Browning Ultra XTR, very comfortable with a rubber adjustable comb. Must have put 5000+ shells through it and it was perfect, nothing wrong with the gun and it let me appreciate what I was looking for in my next gun. I then managed to sell it for what I paid for it, and moved onto a Blaser F3 - which would absolutely not have suited me last year! (Well rather I would not have appreciated it) Pete
  20. Hi I've just bought a F3 Professional from Mulliner Guns (http://mullinerguns.co.uk) - Ian Mulliner does all the warranty work for Blaser in the UK, so knows what he's talking about - and the service I received was absolutely superb. Mine was used, but you'd never know it - fully serviced, not a mark on it etc. You can drop the boss of Blaser UK a line too - Robert was very helpful, robert.sajitz@blaser-sporting.com Love mine - as does everyone else who's had a go. Pete
  21. Managed to lose my choke key at Kibworth, and since no one has handed it in - I need one! Anyone got a Briley choke wrench going spare? Cheers Pete
  22. You're probably right - works ok for me now though!
  23. Completely agree on Ian - was/is a complete star, even called me after the gun arrived to check I was happy - and run through how I was getting on with it. The gun was superbly prepared as well, I wanted a slightly longer LOP - Ian fitted a new kickeez pad, machined it out to keep the weight down - and it looks like it's always been there and fits spot on Took me 3 goes before I got used to the same change in length, first session was a mare - now could not be happier
  24. Blaser F3 Professional (So what they call on the website the Competition Sporter) - with 32" barrels. Still getting used to it - but couldn't be happier, very, very impressive communications from Blaser UK and Mulliner Guns (where I got it from), and the gun is sweet - just a real feeling of balance and quality. The MXS is a nice looking gun - but I'd always know I got the 'cheap one' and to be honest, it just didn't feel as special as the Blaser. (Blaser feels very 'Germanic' to me - and I like that in engineering!)
