  1. hi guys,

Iv been ask to shoot some rabbits on a couple of horse fields, problem is the lady who ask me only rents the fields from a farmer and has no shooting rights.

can i shoot with her permision or do i need to get it from the farmer?

    thanks in advance

    Paul

not sure on that , but if she is the tennant then i dont see why not.

dont forget that the law states that landowners etc must ( by law ) control vermin on thier land and rabbits are definatley unwanted pests around horse paddocks

your doing a service for him and the lady , so just go with it until someone say other.

just to add i own 2 horses and belong to a livery yard and never ever shoot while horse are in the paddocks only if they are stabled or otherside of the farm , and then i use a silenced air rifle or a 410 hushpower.

horse's cost big time the last thing you need is someone trying to sue you for damage to there property :welcomeani:

    cheers

  2. was useing some of the above carts in 32gr 6's at the weekend , must say i rather liked them , much better than the D&J 's i have been using.

so i enquired at my local gun shop how much for a 1000 clear pigeon carts , he quoted me £178 :welcomeani: which i though was a bit steep

he also sells individual boxs at £5.85 a box

so the question is -- how much do you guys pay for these gamebore carts in your area

    cheers

  3. If they can't find out and you've tried a few vets consider amputation first. The dog will be fine on 3 legs and condition will actually improve once he's not in pain all the time :hmm:

we have seen 3 vets and one specialist.

the last vet said he had seen loads of lame labs , and there is usually a cause or a clue to whats happened , but in his cause could find nothing .

after 6 months not even a hint of the lameness getting any better , in fact its got a bit worse.

the specialist vet just said its likely nerve damage or a tiny tumour some where , but theres nothing that can be done.

so far its cost over £1000+ and also the on going pain killers at £2.80 per day .

we bought another pup ( a spaniel this time ) to kind of soften the blow , gives me something to concentrate on , but at the mo i just feel guilt.

  4. well i,m working up to it .

it looks like my black lab Jack will have to be pts , its so hard to do , as he's not even 6 years old.

he's been such a good lad and we love him so much  .

the vet says they cant find any cause for his lameness and all his muscle as gone from his shoulder now and struggles on 3 legs and his in pain ( when moving ).

he's on rimadyl which helps plus it makes him sleepy and just keeps himself to himself lying in the corner of the room or utility  usually snoring.

i just wish i knew for sure what he was going through , how do i know when the time is right?? , i know i have to do it and i know it gonna rip me apart :good:

  5. thanks for all the replys lad

had a good day with her yesterday , she did some good recalls useing the lead and some baked liver :good: - i will keep on with this every other day .

just a thought -- i think toys may be the problem here :good: she as a few chews / nylabone / soft balls etc and when she,s holding one thats when shes less likely to come into me .

    but

on saying that , if she has,nt got a toy in her gob , she,ll find something soon as i let her out of her cage or into the garden she'll pick a twig or stone or chunks of ice at the mo and carry them round , :hmm: dont no , what do you think .

she just loves carrying stuff thats all i know .

    thanks again

    keep em coming :good:

  6. she's 16 weeks today

    no never punished her

i think she thinks its a game , maybe cause she was kenneled with her bros and sis before i got her , dunno. plus shes more interested in my other dogs if there about .

i,ll try out the bread bit and look up chris burns on you tube.

thanks lads -- keep the ideas coming i will try them all

  8. anyone got any good tips that will help with the bonding of me and my pup  .

shes a great little springer and mad as a hatter .

    but

i,m having trouble getting her to recall to me , it seems she'd much prefer to give me a wide birth or totally ignore me when i call her and doge past me .

i am useing treats and trying out the long lead , but still out of choice she tries to avoid me

i,m doing something wrong but not sure what .

    any suggestions

    thanks lads
