  1. Correct it has a wooden butt pad, No snagging on your jacket when it’s mounted
  2. It’s a beautiful gun. No cast on it must be the photo I took. Just a shame it doesn’t fit me right. Think I may look for a 20 bore 0/u instead but will make sure I handle it properly before buying it this time
  3. If it was just a laser cut plate you were after in the shape of the profile you could soon insert the image into autocad and then draw around the bits you wanted. Save the image as a DXF file...off to the laser cutters and job done....simples. You could then add as much detail as you wanted (within reason) ensuring you had continuity in the plate you were cutting. You don’t want to cut big bits out that made it fall to bits (if that makes sense)
  4. Random question...converted tractor unit with a diesel generator fixed to the chassis. Previously classed as “Engineering plant” to negate having to have it MOT tested and was previously able to drive on a car licence. Since the law has changed recently, from what I know this is now classed as a HGV and needs an annual Mot along with now having to be driven with a class 2 licence. It does not carry goods just purely a diesel generator which powers a welding rectifier. Can it still be declared as “Engineering plant” or does this no longer exist?
  5. With being a member of BASC already I think for the cost it will be well worth while. I don’t have a lot of time for shooting so if I can shortcut things by attending then I think why not plus it’s a good excuse to get out for the day
  6. Didn’t know if this was worth attending for a newbie or whether it was a waste of time
  7. Anyone been on the BASC introduction to pigeon shooting course?
  8. Hi not shot at cocketts in a while, I haven’t actually shot all year. Wife’s having baby No 2 at the minute so can’t sneak out just yet but when I do I’d love to go. Would be nice to have people to meet up with
  9. Hi do you recommend any decent gun fitters in the Nottinghamshire area?
  10. Thanks for the comments, think I’ll take it out and try it. The gun only cost £400 so probably not worth spending allot on it. Yes it’s a straight stock as oppose to the pistol grip on my o/u
  11. I have just bought a 1930 side by side. Not shot it yet but it Feels to fit better than my o/u when mounting at home. Only problem is that it has a solid wooden recoil pad fitted. Although this has some grooves carved into it to give grip, it still slips in the shoulder. I have just ordered some 1.5mm adhesive backed rubber neoprene which I shall be cutting into shape and sticking on to give a bit of grip so hopefully it won’t slip
  12. Hi does anyone have any details yet of either of these shoots?
  13. Joe stops shooting? Not altogether I hope, I’m wanting some more lessons
  14. I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled. Just want to get the odd practice weekend in for the pigeon shooting (which I’m not getting around to doing) better when the light nights are here. Starting to shoot up at joe Neville’s once a month as a purpose to get out
  15. Oh dear bang goes the idea of a shoot being 15 mins down the road...thought it was too good to be true
  16. You get to go to the pub afterwards? I’m lucky just to get a pass to go shooting only let alone pub afterwards
  17. Wrong side of the border?...I guess your Derbyshire side. Not mover far, only from Nuthall
  18. Ok that’d be great...from what I understood they stopped shooting at Lumb farm and now they shoot on some land behind the cricket club (I think). Don’t know where I heard about it but new to the area so it’s only 10 mins from where I live. Would be good if they did though
  19. Does anyone know if the shoot behind Marehay Cricket Club in Derbyshire is still on? I think they had a shoot every other week
  20. Thanks everyone obviously mixed opinions. Think I’ll leave it on, as someone says they wouldn’t put them on in the first place if they weren’t required. I dry mount onto the ceiling line, onto to pattern of the wall paper, onto door handles, looking up the stairs at the fire alarm. I try various different things just to try and help mounting in different varied situations. I’m very comfortable with my mount so not doubting this. When thinking about when I’m shooting, if I’m honest the majority of times I couldn’t tell you where the bead was but if I think about the obvious stupid shots Iv missed (more often than not) I could probably tell you exactly where the bead was....I think that says it all
  21. Decisions decisions don’t know what to do...I think allot of it is actually psychological so if I just remove it, The problem goes away
  22. Perrazi.....guess you have been shooting a while, I have heard a few people say this. Guess it’s easy enough to either fit a new one or put the old one back on if required
