  1. Thanks for your help and well wishes guys. Very much appreciated as I can understand how hard it must be to share your own experiences and have those memories brought to the surface. Thanks again.
  2. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has experience of going to the doctors for depression or other conditions? My baby passed away a month ago and I'm finding it hard to cope. Haven't spoken to anyone about it or really left the house. Worried about going to the doctors in case they think I'm unfit to have guns and tell the police, and then they revoke my SGC or something (even though they're stored with an RFD at the moment- purely because I haven't yet convinced the missus to put a safe in the house) It's not like I'm going on meds or anything- wouldn't dare touch them. Just need to talk to somebody. Anyway, if anyone has gone through something similar RE doctors then I'd appreciate the advice. Thanks
  3. Thanks to everyone for your replies. I've gone down the slow and steady route (just showed him a Vegas holiday photo of me holding a gun). He didn't seem that bothered- was more interested in playing on his trampoline lol. he doesn't know where meat comes from and has no idea about guns. The reason for telling him is so that the ex doesn't tell him and paint me in a bad light (making me out to be a killer walking round with machine guns and 'sniper rifles' in the street!!) Think I'll just leave it now and just not avoid talking about guns, if it comes up in conversation then that's fine. Went out and bought some waterguns so think we'll start with that lol. I also let the firearms team know the situation with the crazy ex. My guns are also VERY secure (don't want to say how in case the ex searches and finds this post- wouldn't be surprised!!) thanks again, Mitch
  4. Hi all, Bit of an odd one but maybe some will have useful advice? Situation is I've met my partners child (8year old) and they're city people so never even seen a gun. My question is how should I broach the fact that I shoot (not animals as he wouldn't understand) and use guns etc? Without him worrying that I'm dangerous etc Bearing in mind that there's an idiotic ex husband who is likely to tell him all sorts of things about me and paint me in a very bad light/ try to fight for some custody on the grounds that I'm dangerous. Same situation went well with the other kid but he is much older and understands completely. Thanks, Mitch

  8. Hi all, Does anyone know if Falcon club is open this weekend and what discipline they will be shooting? I've lost the timetable and the website seems to be down... Thanks, Mitch
  9. Just cartridges are not usually cheap, but they certainly are convenient if you're miles away from a gun shop
  10. There were extenuating temporary circumstances that meant I had to. Besides, why are you all up in my ***? This post wasn't entitled "oh help please give me sympathy because I got mugged". I'm purely asking if anyone has any of the above items listed so I can hand over my [hard-earned] cash. If you can help me with that, great, I'll be very thankful. If not, politely **** off.
  11. Fortunately I was insured, but getting knocked unconscious with a crow bar didn't do me any good! Plus, you know insurance companies will never pay out full value!
  12. Hi all, I was mugged a little while back and had the above stolen, therefore I'm on the lookout for: 1. A Samsung Galaxy S7 edge preferably in gold but doesn't matter. 2. A designer wallet like Mont Blanc, Gucci, Prada, Tumi etc. Max £400 3. A watch from the big names like Tag Heuer, Breitling, Omega, etc not planning on spending more than £2k. 4. A metal or leather key ring. Max £100. Please let me know if you or anyone you know is selling something similar to any of the above. Thanks, Mitch
  13. I would like to buy an American car such as the Dodge Ram/F series pickups or even a mustang/camaro/charger. Not planning on spending more than £15k. Cheers, Mitch
  14. Buying from a shop second hand is no bad thing. Especially if they took it in part ex, they will be willing to give a bigger discount. You'd be hard pushed to find someone who's willing to let their beretta/browning etc go for cheap unless they really needed the money. I picked up two rifles and two shotguns from a shop for combined total of £2400, where the RRP was approx £5000. 3 out of 4 of them had barely been used at all, and the CZ 452 had been well used, however all of the previous owners must have been raped when part exing them!
  15. Haha yes may be a bit tight in the lanes!
  16. Tue yeah didn't think of that. If you can drive a sprinter then why not an American pickup! Yikes, is that the 6 ish litre or the 8.3 srt-10? Suppose not too bad if it's lpg converted then that's equivalent 24mpg isn't it
  17. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has driven or had to live with one of these monsters? If so how do they compare with UK pickup truck, and are they usable in the UK? I'm thinking in terms of do they actually fit on uk roads properly, can you park them etc? Can't decide between these (about 7- 10 years old with about 40-60k on the clock) or a much newer UK pickup. Thanks, Mitch

    Shock

Very sorry to hear this mate. Wish your partner a speedy recovery. In times like this we cling onto anything we have.
  19. Not necessarily. I received a court summons from city council via post- but it was most definitely not signed for. It turned out to be incorrect as I had paid on time and they just cocked it up. What a pain to get sorted that was though.
  20. Suppose it depends on the legal boundaries. If the grey area you speak of is to the left of the boundary line then it is allowed, if it's to the right then it wouldn't be. Shouldn't matter if it's field, gravel, mud etc?
  21. Anyone have any idea why they are showing a photo of a girl holding a gun like this on the game fair website?... http://www.thegamefair.org/
  22. Apply for whatever you want within reason. As long as you have a very good reason for needing that specific calibre e.g 22-250 for long range fox then you should get it. I got .17hmr, .22lr, .223, and .308 on first grant. Ideally you'll want a calibre that you can easily get factory rounds for (like .223 or .243) if you haven't got time for reloading. Good luck (wish I had 250 acres let alone 2500 to shoot on!) Haha
  23. £10,500 open to offers This is a lovely example of a saab 9-3 1.9 ttid twin turbo sports sedan. It is 0-60 in 8 seconds factory (180bhp) but I have had it uprated to 220BHP which would take it down to 6.5 seconds so I'm told! Factory 62.8mpg combined, although on a 140 mile trip to Cornwall I got 72mpg there and 65mpg on the way back. Round the city traffic I get 43-48mpg. Quoted top speed is 147mph but would go well above that now it's uprated to 220BHP. Leather interior, heated front seats, cruise control, Bluetooth phone hands free, auxiliary socket, one touch windows. 17" alloy wheels. Auto dimming interior mirror and side mirrors. Soft close which closes windows and folds in mirrors when you hold the lock button. Loads of features too many to list really! This is the newest saab 9-3 you can buy as they stop at 2011 models. Only 47500 miles on this one as well. Maintenance is very cheap- last service(main service at approx 45000 miles) by main dealer was circa £200! There is no other car for this money that can do 60+mpg and sub 8 seconds 0-62. Very comfortable as well- I have bad back troubles and I could drive this to Scotland without any aches. Seats are wide and comfy as I'm 17 stone and struggle with the likes of BMW/Merc seats etc. Massive boot, all seats fold flat. The rear arm rest opens up to reveal portal through to the boot (meant for skis and snowboards). Back seats have barely been used at all as I don't have kids! Full main dealer service history (south Wales saab specialists). No outstanding finance. Any further questions then please just ask. Please PM me for photos until I figure out how to upload! Pick up from either birmingham or near Newport South Wales. Thanks, Mitch
