  1. I'm looking to purchase a pump as a rough gun that I will never sell again, I would like it to be multi choke and have as short barel as possible for ease of use in tight spaces (not sure what the minimum barel size is!if someone could clear that up for me?) What do people recommend?
  2. Got myself a Vortex crossfire! Very very nice scope for £170, compared it to my friends zeiss that costs 4x as much and it was definitely not 4x worse! Very clear both fully zoomed and not zoomed with easy to use turrets and very nice finish it is the best scope for that price range by far! The warrant also covers you if you drop it etc for life too! Which IMO is amazing for this day and age!
  3. After a lot more looking it is going to be between the MTC viper, MTC mamba (both in 4x16-50) or the Vortex crossfire ii (4x16-44). Now I'm getting very very good reviews on all of them but the problem I will have is I cannot look through both at the same time :S
  4. The vortex scopes get very very good reviews! And iirc it has a lifetime warranty too!
  5. So I have just purchased a brand new CZ455 chambered in .17HMR and I'm looking for a scope to go with it, I have roughly £200 to spend give or take a bit and I'm looking for it to have about 6x18 worth of mag. I am looking at a vortex crossfire ii 6x18-44 ATM as they seem to be a great price for then quality but I'm just wondering if there are any competitions available for the same price range?
  6. The one thing I found with the ASEutra is it's pretty heavy especially compared to the swift precision mods!
  7. Swift precision standard mod or even the stumpy! £47 and as good if not better than the £150 ones!
  8. I'm gonna do mine this year, turn 24 this year so gonna do my DAS, I feel doing it slow time and being comfortable is important with riding a bike so I think it will take me roughly 3-4 months I think. Done my theory the other week so that's stupid part done lol (some of the questions are rediculous!)
  9. Just produce a spread in the notes section
  10. Local game dealer will collect only steel shot pigeons. and thank you for that I will take a look around.

Best off going half an hour away to dragon field sports in Wrexham, but I have also heard a new shop has opened near holt/farndon? Out the back towards rossette?
  12. Hello everyone, I have recently just got into shooting and I'm on the lookout for cartridges that will work well in my new Winchester select sporting II which I'm 99.9% sure has 3 inch cambers and is steel proof (I pick the gun up next weekend). I will be shooting a fair variety of things but I have broken them down into 4 sections that I would use different cartridges for: Clays, small vermin (crows/rabbits), fox and a steel shot for pigeon and wildfowing. It would be great help if someone using the same/similar gun could let me know what they use for the above shooting situations. Thanks again Dan
  13. I might be after some extended chokes for my Winchester select sporting II if anyone has any?
  14. I went for a Winchester select sporting II, seems to do everything very well, 3" chambers, steel proofed. Fairly sure it will take a heavy load for shooting a fox.
  15. I have got a Winchester select sporting II 2nd hand instead, it was worth the extra money over these in the list. I will prob get a cheap pump or the armsan for when it's wet.
  16. Ye I was gonna say KTM LC4 would be a very good shout! Slightly more power and loads more power to be had! Usually owned by someone who knows what they are doing too as its an enthusiast bike.
  17. Just so everyone knows that might read this thread. I put all the above guns together at one time and chose none, I bought a Winchester select sporting II instead lol Lifting the price a little to between £500-£800 makes a huge difference to the build quality!
  18. There's a company on here that picks up across the whole of the UK. I think they want steel shot pigeons and rifle shot rabbits. Would it be suitable for me to skin them and freeze them straight away to accumulate the required amount over time? Or would they want it all super fresh and shot the night before?
  19. what are the thoughts of this lanber? http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Lanber_Shotgun_Sporting-Delux_For-Sale_150106122333207
  20. I don't understand why you wouldn't clean a gun after every use? Even just for piece of mind that everything is working as it should after use.
  21. That lenser P7.2 gift set I just put a link up to us by far the cheapest! And with a free P3 torch included it makes the P7.2 cost £20.99 which when they are usually £40 on its own makes it a pretty good deal imo!
  22. is this package any good? http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/led-lenser-p72-giftset-a89qz
  23. What do we all think of the lanber O/Us?
  24. What are these guns like for clay shooting?
