    Crow decoys

Any got any crow decoys they no longer use. Got a new permission that has crows on it and only currently got 2 decoys. As long as they aren't really tatty. Thanks
  2. Never thought of that will take a little torch
  3. Hello I have recently joined a small syndicate in my village and this weekend is the first shoot. As it's so close I was thinking I could walk there. This would mean about 300 yards down a village road and about half a mile on a public footpath in fields. If I had my guns in a slip would this be ok?
  4. Some cracking shots in there. Forgive me if I'm being stupid but what does a red letter day actually mean?
  5. Got the place do looking forward to seeing how it goes
  6. Sorry I meant if I paid for a peg on a single day elsewhere He said there are 8 maybe 10 guns I think
  7. I bumped into a game keeper today and we got chatting. He told me there was a place in his syndicate, it's a small shoot walk one shoot one etc with 4 days this season. He said they can shoot from 10 birds to 50 birds he also said it includes pest control all year round so pigeons crows rabbits etc. The cost is 450. I'm desperate for some game shooting but due to a new born baby can't justify spending hundreds of pounds on just one day so this offers sounds good to me but wanted to know what others thought? Tbanks
  8. I may have found one, might look to part exchange mine plus a SKB out I have as prob won't use that much as I have a semi auto I use for my pigeon shooting and rough shooting
  9. I want to give my SxS a good clean so what is best for the barrels and also I want to give the stock a new face lift again what do people recommend? Thanks
  10. On each barrell it has 12 then 70 so that's what made me think it was 70 I'm thinking of using it if I'm lucky enough for a game day this year. I don't think the ejector is necessary but just prefer an ejector
  11. I have a SxS (Ugartechea) that I don't very often but I was wondering: How can I find out what chamber it is I suspect it's 70 as it this written on the barrels Secondly can you convert a non ejector into an ejector or would I be better off at selling this and buying an ejector? Thanks
  12. I was just wondering how people train dogs to walk to heel. We have a 2.5 yr old springador who is terrible on the lead ( our fault for not doing anything sooner) but my wife in expecting in October and I want our dog not to pull on the lead anymore. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. We use a choke chain atm but open to any suggestions.
  13. Still impressive in my eyes wish I could have a bag of that size.
  14. As for shooting rape stubble yes you can. As people have said there are loads of feeds on here. I too am a novice and have certainly picked up some ideas from people on here and had plenty of questions answered. Some of them have lead to heated discussions between people which I find hilarious!!! Enjoy the stubble!!!!
  15. That's impressive as a novice getting 165.
  16. Gutted only just seen, would definitely come as really want just one more day out!!!
  17. Very similar day I had on Sunday! Out again tomorrow so hoping for another good day!!!

  19. Hi all What are the rules on using rope bangers? Can any one buy them or is it just a farming thing?
  20. Just got one of these. What oil/ spray do people use when cleaning guns?
  21. Finally got a chance to do some pigeon shooting having been away on holiday. I went out with my mate and his dad. We set up three different hide positions. The day started off well with pigeons decoying in well. After an hour or so it got very quite with pigeons only coming in when the wind picked up. Decided I would try rotary machine which worked a treat and brought in some lovely pigeons. Some were shot and some got away! Again after a while the rotary seemed to scare the pigeons away so I took it down. Things then dried for me yet my mate was shooting away so decided to go down to his position. I set up about 20- 30 yards from his hide to get the pigeons that were sneaking over the hedge. It's was a steady afternoon and with some goods shots and unfortunately some easy misses we ended up with a new record for us of 82 plus a rabbit. I was shooting a new to me semi auto and absolutely loved it ( the third shot was very handy at times).
  22. Had no troubles today really enjoyed shooting it!!
  23. These are 67mm so hopefully they will be ok. If not I'm taking the o/u just in case.
  24. I have just brought an escort semi auto will be trying it out on the pigeons tomorrow. It's a 3inch chamber but I recently brought a slab of cartridges that are 2 1/2 inch will these be ok to use? ( if I'm honest not really sure what the chamber part means) Thanks
  25. Sorry just noticed this. If I had seen could have been interested but too late now as wont be home in time on Saturday to collect it from RDF
