  1. I was wondering about that too. 😂
  2. Checked mine, 18.8. So definitely over bored.
  3. Well Phil, I reckon we’ve both heard all this for so long now. So they are not pigeons and not even made of clay. Total re think on a name I reckon. 😂
  4. I never really care what boring is in a gun, so long as it does what it should. 😂
  5. Pete, we share the same view on this very sorry state of affairs! I shall not renew this year!
  6. No matter what it may or may not say anywhere on the gun, the only sure way is to get the chokes and bores measured accurately. A gunsmith will easily be able to look at them for you.
  7. Sorry but I'm going to side with your instructor! Beretta, Miroku, or Miroku made Browning and you cannot go wrong! I ignored what I was told when I bought my first gun, I bought a budget level gun, it kept going wrong and after three months or so I chopped it in for a Browning. The real cost when it comes to shooting is not the gun!!! It's all the money you spend on practice rounds, comp fees and ammo that eat up the money! Please don't skimp on a gun!
  8. I've used several high and semi high rib trap guns, as well as flat ribs, but don't be fooled by the height of the rib and the stock! The high rib and higher comb are mainly used so as to promote a more head up gun mount, thus allowing a more relaxed head position and better peripheral vision. These high ribs and stocks do not have to shoot any higher than any other setup, a 35mm drop is going to be the same no matter whether it's a low rib or a high rib. If you factor in adjustable POI on barrels, as well as adjustable rib and comb, well you can make it shoot as high or as flat as you like! But such things are best set up and left well alone!
  9. Mmm....I've heard this before.......but in my case............
  10. Yes Pete, it was indeed Andy Perkins! Any idea where he is these days, is he still shooting? I know he left H&H years ago.
  11. Being a trap shooter, I used to go there because they had an instructor who was also a trap shooter. He would set things up so that I could shoot at a particular target that I was having trouble with, I always came away with the problem solved!
  12. Can't remember.....it was too long ago in my case!
  13. Fairly common issue, could be......wrong gun fit.....wrong gun mount....head lifting.....or all of three. Get a coach to check you out.
  14. I had a gun fit done at H & H almost 30 years ago, also had many lessons there, it's a brilliant place!
  15. Right now 0 , new MX8 currently in transit from Italy.
  16. The pins usually chip or pit, if one is actually shorter than the other it may have been chipped or pitted and then repaired. At the end of the day if it works properly then leave it alone. If you are worried, then take it to a gunsmith.
  17. If you're going to A1 just get your mate a lesson with Claudio, he's a brilliant coach!
  18. Really depends on what you already know and also what discipline you intend to shoot. It may be best to have a few lessons.
  19. My nearest practice ground is 55 miles away! Many of us travel a long way to shoot these days! I no longer shoot comps due to miles and time, I've kinda lost the inclination!
  20. You will see various times to the left of entries if I remember correctly, they are the times for booking in, ie 9.30 to 10.30. To the right of entries is the description of what's going on, ie 100 OTR registered ,open practice or whatever. Hope this helps.
