Have shot there about 40 years ,tho not in the last two seasons but will help you in any way I can. In my experience I have only met friendly fowlers there so no idea where the unpleasantness comes from.

Didn't Kenzie Thorpe say "Flying shots is for gentlemen and fools" haha, but seriously shooting like that is not for me as it just looks bad. I doubt it makes much difference to the geese how they are killed.
Barbour Solway zipper was what we all wanted even though the elbows always wore through and the zips packed up. Bullseye sea boots and some oil skin leggings a knitted bally and mitts.
Have a longshoreman now that i love ,except pulling it off over my head sometimes results in mud on my face.
Morning flight at Lindisfarne end of November,got shots at a pack of Wigeon in the half light and missed,then a bit later got 40 Pinks over the top and got this one,could have probably got another out of the skein but ones enough for me these days.
