  1. May I ask how do you get your limoncello so yellow?
  2. My son shot 2 this evening, first he's ever got, get in there son. 251 total
  3. My 12 year old boy shot two from the bathroom window, watered down peanut butter bait BSA GOLDSTAR SE .177. Good lad.
  4. No sign of the rats all week, we sat watching all Saturday afternoon and evening and no sign, not even on the trailcam, it has shown a hen blackbird taking the peanut butter bait though. This particular blackbird has a stick jutting out of the middle of its back, it looked like a cocktail stick but through my scope it is a natural twig anyone seen anything like this?
  5. After days if no sightings, not even on the trailcam a squirrel has just scampered across my back wall, I'm ready with the r10 as I write this.
  6. Its a plr 500 pistol lamp with a red filter, I use it with the dogs. It kind if floods my small garden so may be a bit overkill!
  7. Good idea that with the light I could always put some fairy lights out.
  8. Number 13 put in an appearance on the trailcam yesterday at about half two. Your days are numbered.
  9. Being home alone has its advantages, its either watch the birds or homes under the hammer!
  10. Just checked the trailcam out for 24 hrs no rats but did pick up another squirrel. Number 13 gas been handed its notice.
  11. Yeah same here, really frustrating watching a squirrel last week running along the fence back and forth with pieces of toast from the old dears garden next door.
  12. I've got three mk4 fenn traps out permanently, but rarely catch anything in fact I've had more squirrels than rats. My feeders are all hanging types, but neighbours either side have open tables so think that may be attracting them. I was putting peanuts out to shoot the squirrels though! Going to have a session Saturday afternoon with my lad, let him clear them. I've got a BSA R10 se .177 the boy has a Goldstar se. 177 usually just shoot targets. I've got a clulite lamp which I use with my Saluki's when lamping, might try that first.
  13. Could I just use a lamp with a red filter? I've never shot at night.
  14. Hi folks after the last squirrel met its demise I've noticed a couple of rats around the bird feeder. Hopefully I can shoot them the same way as the squirrels but I was thinking maybe I'd need night vision, are the cheap scope add ons on the bay any good. Its only for a few shoots and I could do without spending a fortune. Any advice welcome, cheers.
  15. The dogs started going mad at the patio door and I thought not another one surely, but no a rat. The wife won't mind me shooting them so its a session in the bathroom with the boy Saturday evening. Wish me luck.
  16. Well its taken nine days but number twelve just ate his last free meal. I smeared peanut butter on the little border fence and he stopped long enough for a clean safe shot. Ten minutes later there us a nuthatch on the feeder, doesn't get much better than that. Cheers for all the advice and support.
  17. As far as I can tell its only the one left in the area, for now at least, and its become rather personal. If I don't get it this week I will take you up on your kind offer @Fisheruk. Cheers
  18. Since I started shooting them we've had the woodpeckers back on the feeder, an over wintering blackcap and three nuthatch, I'd never before seen a nuthatch in my garden. As well as all the usual songbirds
  19. Wife and daughter home all weekend, they think they are cute fluffy things, my boy and I know better, so shooting on hold until Monday.
  20. Peanut butter is on the shopping list cheers for the advice
  21. I've bagged 11 this last two weeks from my bathroom window with my BSA R10 se .177. 1782
  22. Hi, due to a change in shifts I've found myself home alone 8 am to 11 am and I noticed my bird feeder was plauged by grey squirrels. I've only a small garden, so shooting out of the bathroom window, one foot in the bath and the rifle bag on the window sill I've accounted for 11 in 2 weeks. Number 12 is the problem, it just grabs a nut and jumps back on the fence, not giving me either a definite kill shot or a safe backstop. Any ideas to make it stay still for long enough to get a head shot, I tried scattering nuts on the floor but same scenario. Any advice much appreciated, the bird numbers gave almost doubled since I started shooting. Cheers.
  23. Hi Merlin would I be able to have a look and buy Monday around lunchtime? Just what I'm after or a hw97 to teach my boy springer shooting. Many thanks James
