  1. Sorry, just want to make sure I get everything right for my first go 🤓 These look quite thick, will std over powder cards be OK?
  2. Thank you. Now I just need to work the loads out as although i know others have used the Lee Load All with fibre wads, all the loading data is for plastic wads only 😑
  3. Ok thank you. I'll get some cards ordered! Thanks again
  4. The 15mm wads I have look like they have a card on them anyway?
  5. hi all, Is it essential for an over powder card when reloading shells with fibre wads? Thanks Dan
  6. Thanks all. Sorted, it really is a simple case of taking the thin plastic cover off the lfr and playing with the 6 screws Thanks again

  9. does anybody know if blackwoods is trading currently? I've seen many posts with people saying they've bought from then recently yet I can't get any responses from them from their online contact form? Many thanks

  12. hi all. Does anybody know if you can physically change the position of the blinking rangefinder laser? I know you can move the small yellow range finder crosshair to where the blinking range finder light is but mine is right over on the far hand side of the screen and would like it a bit closer to the centre. Nothing in the manual and can't seem to find anything online. Thanks Dan
  13. Due to needing parallax adjustment, I've got my Meopta 7x50A scope for sale. Had it a good few years now and never let me down. Crystal clear glass and a solid performer. Looking for £200 Dan
  14. Zebadee, just curious why you didn't get on with the shotkam?
  15. Ah right. In that case yes he's correct 🤣
  16. As the original post states, Leicestershire police are fine with it. They just said as long as I had permission and obeying the 50yd rules from footpaths and roads etc I was fine. I always email the address they gave me with a Google map outline of where I am along with start and stops times etc and the reason. I was approached the other day by an officer who was very helpful, I showed him the email I'd sent and he was absolutely fine and said good luck. I'd asked him if he was there because of any complaints and he said no he just saw my car parked in the gate entrance. I was behind a hide so he may not have seen me anyway but I took the call to make myself known and approached him, obeying the 2m rule of course! Dan
  17. Agree, go get those funkies!
  18. just wanted to drop you folk who are struggling with permissions a quick summary of my own personal experiences over the years. I had a couple of relatively small permissions (30 acres) for many years about half hour drive from my house and struggled to find a way to get newer closer permissions as I'm surrounded by fields and farms but could never find the opportunity to get on them without overly bothering the busy farmers. My FAC and shotgun licences were due for renewal and I was seriously considering letting them lapse due to insufficient land when one day I was walking the dog and noticed hundreds of pigeons setting up home on a newly drilled rape field. Across the way I saw a tractor and the farmer was setting up a gas cannon. I took my chance and approached him and merely asked of he wouldn't mind be decoying a few to which he open armed my invitation which led to another 500 acres plus of arable land of his. Within weeks he'd given my number to a few of his farmer friends which then led to almost daily texts asking for help. My shooting partner and I now have over 50 permissions under our belt including pigeon, rabbit and fox control and the best bit is half of them are within a 10 minute drive from my house. It just shows patience does pay and although it can be tough, your permissions will come with patience. Stay safe everyone Dan
  19. Ah my bad, you meant the red dot, apologies!
  20. no that's the nv008 lfr - this is the clip version, theyre very good
  21. As tightchoke has mentioned, I understand a little more now 😁
  22. I emailed the local police hq with the query and they called me straight back and confirmed they were OK with it as long as there was a valid reason - ie for the control of pests to preserve the food chain. They also advised to notify them of the shoot through their voluntary system (which I always do) to prevent the FAOs being called out. Been out several times on my permissions the last few days and had no bother. Stay safe
  23. just curious as to how many of you are protecting the food chain by pest controlling during the lock down? Ps - forgot to add "because its allowed!" Dan
