Welcome Hoptoit from another new member. TimTams yep! Where are you if I may? Have fiends up around Gympie, and down in the Surrey Hills. Uncle worked on a station in WA for years and talked about it the rest of his life. Best, R.

I have some A-Zoom snap caps as well, but the "primers" have holed pretty badly with very little use. I dont think they will cushion the strike of the firing pins much now. I only used them to let down the hammers on boxlock and sidelock guns. I normally dismount the barrels now, and snap the locks against a piece of horn, then reassemble. I know. Some dont bother but reckon its best on guns that are very old! Best, R. Ps, just got another breed of snap caps in 16 bore that seem to be holding up well, but cant remember the name off hand!

Ditch, I thought it would be same as the UK, where after 50 years stuff is released, but Classified is never released. Am thinking on released documents, that it could be like the files on the Romanovs. Yes. The files were released but when Occleshaw tried to get to them they had turned up, " missing " "Removed" "Missing". Etc.

Trouble is, Classified will never be released, so l believe we will remain in the dark.

Brand new here myself but welcome C-L. Let us know how it goes. -
I was cultivating fields in the valley below... Sun started to come up and for a few brief minutes it was glorious! cloud cover closed the sun out within minutes, but caught these pics.

For the record, I never felt colder than I did back home M,O.G. I'd get off the old Fordson Major with a Lamborne canvas cab at six from ploughing, and shiver till nine. Chilled right through. That doesn't happen here.

Do you blokes remember when we could get turtle soup? Alligator, Ditchman. "The longer you chew it, the bigger it gets" -
They both look very handleable guns, Enfield! Hope the 16 does you well! I dont know how I would describe mine. Feels good ..lovely triggers... I do have a Manufrance 12 in bits at the moment. Need to make both mainsprings! That one is a number four whatever that means. On the inside the work is as rough as a badgers a**e, but its tight and handles well. The one above handles so well its hard to put down! ATB R.

Yes, G.T. was of an enquiring and open mind. Really enjoyed his AYA XXV in later years. Think he shot with a Winchester 101 if I remember right. Below is Nel. My rough rustic French peasant! All rust when she came to live with me. Mot much better now. Had to make a top lever spring. Locks up tight 16 bore, 27 1/2 inch tubes. 5 3/4 pounds. Seems to be made by Verney Carron. Fits like a glove and would be ideal for ferreting! I Like her! No class but I Still like her!

It got up minus 17 this afternoon, so didnt feel like I needed gloves after the cold we had! Been minus 30 C at times and never above -20 c for a couple of weeks. Could be a lot colder but I dont mind warm! One bad time some years back it got real cold. Minus 70F with wind. Neighbour had his tractor heated and all lagged up for feeding cows. He got abouf 200 yards down the road and she froze up. Had to walk back. Froze his lungs and he was years before he was right again. Lot of cows froze standing up that winter. That's before we moved here. Ive only seen minus 45C or so l think. Hunted in 40 below but not much fun! And dont lick your gun! Soon as these antibiotics get workibg l wont have time to sit playing with my phone! Lol.
