A bolt 22.250
Hi, I have a Gunmark Kestrel 20g with a totally knacked stock. Went out rabbit shooting with father, i had the rimmy on the back of the landy, he had the twenty bore in the front so he could shoot any runners. I belly shot one rabbit as it started to make its way to the hedge; couldn't believe it when dad jumped out the landy and went over and whacked the rabbit over the head holding the gun as though it was a cricket bat! Took the gun to a local dealer who said the stock was too far gone to be repaired; it had split right across the mouth and a chunk was missing. (I'd searched for the missing bit, but could not find it, so headed home after going home and ******* and jeffing at the old man). I was left wondering what was I going to do with a like-new action and barrels off my sweet little twenty bore... So I've come to pick the brains of you clever chaps at PW. Is there anyone out there that could make a stock for this gun, bearing in mind i paid £400 for it in mint condition? If not, is there anyone who has a worn out Gunmark Kestrel 20g and wants to sell the stock? Any suggestions would be gratefully received. A bolt 22.250
Thanks for your interest guys, Mikee if you could get a rough estimate from your Friend that would be fantastic, in the mean time i will try and contact straightshooter1 and see if he has any suggestions. "Pat when you say they made it do you mean the gun or the stock or have you posted on the wrong page" it would be a real shame if i had to scrap it especially when GMK are probably rattling them of the line at a few quid a pop it wouldn't need anything Fancy i think the old stock is made out of beach or something similar. mikee
ive spoken to the guy down the road and he reckons it would cost too much to make a new stock, but he could probably repair it for about £150 ( with a big ish), could you send some pics, he said modern glues and such are so good, that coupled with a bit of creative carpentry could fix most damaged stocks, ive pm'd my email i'll forward you reply and photos to him mikee
pat 1
Zabala manufactured these guns for gunmark in spain. If you spoke to someone there they could probably put you in touch with a simular stock even on something elce. A number of different guns use basically the same stock. If you could get onto a spanish shooting forum and post your request there you might get something. Even try e-bay on their spanish site. You should be able to pick up a servisable stock for aroung 50 quid. Also if your stock heading could be copied in a copying machine you could make your own?????.Quite a few good carpentry businesses could copy this for you at humble money. pat
