Ferret Master
No. Don't see why anyone who isn't a poacher would do it. FM
chrispti
I would guess its because all the bunnies are out feeding? Or possibly, as sound travels further at night, all the noise clambering about setting up and along with the lights needed, might make them even more reluctant to bolt Edited October 8, 2009 by chrispti
codling99
does it on warrener video, with long nets, works, but as above why bother ,go in daylight, lot easier.

Ferret Master
Why though? Anyone who has faced a deep dig with the light falling fast knows what complete and utter ball-ache that is. Let alone actually deliberately going about it in darkness. Picture this: rabbits bolting, ferret laying up, ferret leaving the bury and going walkies, trying to dig with stuff hitting the nets all at the same time. Nightmare. Ferret Master
Don't suppose you are poaching some sand dunes on a beach are you? FM
Bleeh
i will have bells and locators on um , and the land is sand so 1/2" deep digs Sand is the worst of the lot. Most sand warrens go down 8ft +. I ussualy don't bother and just gas them. (Also, think about your footing in the dark, one wrong move and you collapse the whole tunnel!) henry d
You go lamping, why ? Perhaps it is because rabbits go out to eat poop and procreate at night, so who will be at home ? No-one unless you dive them there and then you will have to dig or wait for a bolt. ......it boggles
Ferret Master
Sand is the worst of the lot. Most sand warrens go down 8ft +. I ussualy don't bother and just gas them. (Also, think about your footing in the dark, one wrong move and you collapse the whole tunnel!) My thoughts exactly. Half a foot deep burrows, let alone in sand will not withstand weight well. Silly foolish idea and dangerous for the ferrets IMO. FM
