maximusdecimus
Hi guys have been reading the forum for a little while whilst waiting for my membership to be validated. I am an airgunner ( Springer SMK XS19 .22 ) I have never shot a shotgun in my life and people keep telling me once I do I won't want to go back. I have 2 smallish permissions, One mainly for squirrels and crows but and I quote the landowners words, shoot anything that moves that isn't my cats or sheep and the other is teaming with rabbits but is very small, they are both nurseries. Are there many active shooters around Hampshire/Surrey? Anyhow thanks for reading my first post and I hope to learn a lot and make some friends here. maximusdecimus
Thanks everyone BSA - I chrono it every time i leave the house and its always scarily close to 12lbs with RWS superdomes. I have had over 100 clean rabbit kills with it and god knows how many pigeons, rooks crows and squirrels. I have heard a lot of bad things about them but as yet with my rifle they haven't come to light. I get sub inch groups at 35yds and not far outisde that at 40yds. I see your not too far from me ( approx 50 miles ) do you have much luck with permissions round your way?

maximusdecimus
Hey Chris, you get out much around these parts? I find it hard finding places to shoot i have a couple of small shoots but nothing really local. Although i did shoot 4 pigeons out the back garden today for dinner ( 2 for me 2 for the dog ). But thats about the most action i've had in a while.

mick miller
Wilkommen, my 'proper' rifle owning mates always rib me about my air rifle but to be honest its a helluva lot easier to find land to shoot over with a air rifle than a .22lr or .17hmr! I also find that shooting a single bunny in a night by stalking close with the pop gun is many times more satisfying than blatting its head off from 90 yards, if a little more frustrating!
