docholiday
Bought a new scope and when I zeroed it the vertical zero was fine just a few clicks and spot on, however with the horizontal zero the rifle was shooting way to the left, I could just get the rifle on target at the end of the adjustment. What have you found is the best way to adjust the scope in the mounts to correct this Doc
Frenchieboy
I have seen this once or twice before. Try taking the scope and mounts off the gun and then refit the mounts after turning them around (180 degrees) or swapping them back to front. This will sometimes solve the problem. cooter
Put some shim material (folded tin foil or film negative) in the back mount.
steve_b_wales
When buying a scope, it's advised to 'screw the horizontal/vertical adjustments to their fullest setting. Then do it the opposite way, counting the clicks. The adjustments should then be 'clicked half the amount of full clicks ie if total clicks were 100 horizontal, click in 50 etc etc. That way, the reticule should be dead centre in the scope, and futher adjustments can then be made to zero it. Hope this makes sense. Steve.

docholiday
reticule was centered as above so think it will have to be the shims, question is how thick, foil seems a good idea Doc
Shootingman
35mm film negatives usual works

Beardo
you can also get windage adjustable mounts which would compensate for this

cleaner4hire
sounds like a mount problem - dont suppose you have a different set to try and see if its different??
Beardo
i had similar yesterday - just loosened the mounts and re-tightened more on the side it was too far off (if that makes sense) ie if it was too far right of the target. loosen all ring screws. tighten right hand side screws slightly more than the left. docholiday
went out last night and managed to zero the rifle without to much adjustment but the reticule is wound over almost to the stops, supose it doesnt matter as long as it is zeroed. when have more time will readjust the mounts. doc
