zeroing a scope

Bought a new scope and when I zeroed it the vertical zero was fine just a few clicks and spot on, however with the horizontal zero the rifle was shooting way to the left, I could just get the rifle on target at the end of the adjustment.

What have you found is the best way to adjust the scope in the mounts to correct this

When buying a scope, it's advised to 'screw the horizontal/vertical adjustments to their fullest setting. Then do it the opposite way, counting the clicks. The adjustments should then be 'clicked half the amount of full clicks ie if total clicks were 100 horizontal, click in 50 etc etc. That way, the reticule should be dead centre in the scope, and futher adjustments can then be made to zero it.

Hope this makes sense.

Steve.
