Comp
Hiya!! I have had some (limited) success with plain, white toothpaste, and a soft cloth,..... but visibility is all on a bike, as you know,.... get a new one,.... {And look after it!!!! } You know it makes sense........... If you REALLY must, Google 'Visor scratch repair'....... Safe riding, Cheers, Fred
JonD
As above, metallic T-Cut is good, there is also a kit that Heine Gerike sell that a lot of the Police forces us but can't remember the name of it. It's in a blue box that contains the cloth, lid polish, a few other bits and anti-fog (garbage) but you can buy them individually. To be honest if your lid has an easily replaceable visor i'd go that route. The last one i got for my Arai was £30 + the £30 for the new Fog City (brilliant product, especially now it cooling down) Keep it shiny side up Jon. wingnut
I used to use a product called PLEXUS, it is an aerosol polish originally designed for the American airforce to remove scratches from the plexiglass canopies on their fighter aircraft. It was supplied by a motorcycle accessory company called Pyramid plastics (Gainborough) www.pyramid-plastics.co.uk I used to use it on my visor, helmet, screen, bikes body work, polished alloy. and chrome it is brilliant on any thing plastic or painted, and will actually fill scratches in on plastic and paintwork. It is not recomended for use on car windscreens ( as it leaves a film ) and definately do not use it on brake discs.
Supersonic
BRASSO works every time Nige
Alpha Mule
definately do not use it on brake discs. BRASSOworks every time Your brain lives in there and depends a very great deal on what you can and cannot see. Buy a new visor! And make sure you have a clear one for the dark! Too many muppets are riding around after sundown with tinted jobs on.
JonD
I agree, The best £30 i ever spent was on a light reactive Fog City, i'm sure there are loads of different brands available. If it was sunny it tinted the visor to the level of light and if it was night it was completely clear. Just don't do what i did on my first one and pant on the wrong side of it before fitting lol, i was faced with my lips the first time i went out and then had to remove and buy another. Jon. death from below
Defo on a new one - get second hand on other kit but never on your lid and that includes the visor. I bought one of those lids that have a retractable small black visor in the body of it which slips away when the light fades - its the dogs
Pedro
Buy a new one, there's nothing worse than that "spangly" effect at night. P.
