loading for double gun

hi guys am loading for a gun later next week and he shooting double guns and i have never loaded for double so any advise would be great as i know you guys and girls on pw would be able to advise

Just don't let the pressure/excitement get the better of you. You will be holding a loaded gun and it can get swung in all directions. Even if you're being shouted at, do not forget to point BOTH (Regardless if one is unloaded) guns in a safe direction.

As said practise and pratise some more. A dry run at the start of the day always helps settle both of you. I always insist the gun puts the saftey on before passing the gun to the stuffer.

 

What ever you do just stay relaxed and don't drop a gun, but it's too easy the clash barrels.

 

There was a good article a couple of months ago either in Shooting Time or Sporting Gun I think.

just to let u all know i was loading for the double gun yesterday and it went really wel didnt bash the guns togeather or anything so thanks for the tips lads we had a bit of a run through before the first drive he was shooting A pair of Holland & Holland 12-bore 'Royal Deluxe' Sidelock Shotguns 28" very nice guns indeed too much dosh for my liking hahaha

So only about £130,000 worth of guns then, so the questions are:

 

Could he shoot? simple answer is no he could not

Did he tip? yes only getting in the cart for the next drive

Did you have to clean them afterwards? and yes i did have to clean them but i didnt mind the was very nice guns

 

 

I bet he was wearing jeans and a West Ham top :rolleyes:

 

was i wearing a west ham top like hell l.m.a.o now leeds shirt then ya talking lol but no i was in my tweeds and flat cap
