Lez325
woodies will fly in the rain so long as its not too heavy- they have to feed after all and weather will not stop them eating- its what they do best I personally have never shot in the rain apart from Foxing from a 4x4 as all the gear gets muddy and wet -Takes an age to clean and dry everything after. good luck if you decide to have a go Les
deny essex
As above , but they will shelter up in heavy rain and if the ground gets too wet and sticky they are a little reluctant to land and feed on heavy soil, bomb load of mud on their boots doesnt make for good take off and flying! But if they are hungry enough as we all would they will go for it quite often feeding between showers or in lighter lulls in the rain. leadbreakfast
the pigeons tend to stop flying in the rain and wait it out and soon as it stops they start off again well in my experience they have, which could be a good day and could be a bad day. Lez325
A bad day in the rain is better than a bad day at work lol Les
Breastman
I've also found that they will still fly in the rain but go to roost when it gets heavy. The answer - find the roost and really spoil their day Mark

Harnser
Hard persistant rain will keep the birds off the wing and they will settle in their favorite sitty tree . Hard rain and then fine periods can bring the birds out to play . Given the oppotunity they will feed in a frenzy between hard rain and fine periods ,its still worth going out if it is raining . A good pigeon shooter will know his local weather forecast . Incidently pigeons like to keep their feet clean and avoid getting lumps of mud and snow and ice on their feet . When their feet are dirty they have a problem perching . A bit like you having golf balls stuck on your feet . Harnser .
