pttrob Posted December 31, 2009 Author Report Share Posted December 31, 2009 just put a coat of danish oil on and it has really fetched the grain up, will give it a couple of more and then may put a coat of clear wax on and buff it up and will post pics when finished if anyone is interested in having a ganda. Salopian Posted January 1, 2010 Report Share Posted January 1, 2010 pttrob, Here is a gunsmiths aide memoir to stock finishing, Apply a drop of oil and rub into the stock every day for a month Every month for a year Every year for the life of the gun Beware do not apply too much oil at a time and make sure it is well rubbed in and left for about 12 hours in a warm room to dry before applying more oil. If it stays wet and shiny on the surface that is telling you that the surface pores are full. With oil finishes you have to wait for the oil film to 'skin'.
