will8371 Posted January 15, 2010 Report Share Posted January 15, 2010 Hi, i've finally got some free time to introduce myself- i'm more interested in the air rifle side of things, used to be quite an avid rabbit hunter 15 years ago but gave it up.Am now getting back into it (slowly). Haven't even bought a rifle yet but am ordering tomorrow (SMK QB78D). Its not the best gun, but i fancy having a bit of a tinker with it, tune it myself etc. so that i can get an idea as to how to repair it/ mod it myself. I used to have a HW77 which worked a treat but now want to have a go at co2. Once set up i'm going to be after bunnies and pigeons to eat- that Hugh Fearnly-Whatsisname got me wanting to try hunting again and its got to be cheaper than going out on the beer. If i decide to get more into it i'll upgrade to something a bit better but for now i'll give the 78d a practice run. will8371 Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Share Posted January 27, 2010 thanks to you all, have now got myself sorted with an air rifle- didn't go for the SMK in the end, went for a BSA lightning and a HW97k (one extreme to the other). Still haven't been out hunting, am going to play with the rifles for a couple of weeks, get them zeroed and get the eye 'back in'. Looking forward to it.
