sooty 54
Does anyone own or have experience of the Bretton-gaucher phantom , or would i be better investing in a Baikal hushpower ?or option 3 fitting a hushpower moderator to normal .410 ? . Thanks .
sitsinhedges
If you can find one of the old Pedretti types they only have a 28" total barrel length unlike later baikals etc and shoot like a normal gun. I understand Bretton Gauchers have no choke and so very little range. Made for solid slugs in France where they come from I reckon.

rad334
I use a Baikal hushpower 410 and its fantastic, I probably use it more than any of my other guns. I think I paid about £350 for it and its well worth it.
magnetandsteel
Baikal for me. Some of the best fun i've had with my clothes on. Buy one you wont be disappointed.
jackinbox99
Another vote for the baikal from me. You could fit a hushpower silencer to a normal .410, but its not going to be as quiet as a fully moderated barrel like the baikal has. Ive got a mossberg hushpower .410, and its a great gun. Only thing I can say against it is that because its a pump action, its a physically long gun. Whereas the baikal is shorter. But than again, ive got 3 shots rather than 1, so its a trade off really. bicykillgaz
another shout for the baikal wouldn't bother with a bretton gaucher as the mods are a pain in the ***** and as mentioned earier they've no choke so a shorter range, the pedretti are meant to be great and so are the mossberg hushpowers and the extra 2 shots would be nice, especially if you shoot like me! John_R
Gunmart reviewed a handful of these moderated shotguns. I just searched and found this, so you could search and find the other brands: http://gunmart.net/gun_review/bretton-gaucher_g12_phantom/
