njc110381
Unfortunately shooting Munties would be illegal with the Hornet. Whether the Munty would know the difference between 750 and 1000 ft-lbs I don't know, but the Hornet was once a popular Roe stalkers round. Nice shot on the Fox. For such a little case the Hornet really does the job well.

andythechicken
That's very expensive for Hornet ammo. I just purchased some S& B from gtshooting. Box of 20 £7.25, 100 for £37.35. That's very good value if you ask me. Andy
njc110381
S&B or PRVI is always quite cheap. I paid nearly £50 for that box of Remington ammo though, it was quite painful when the rifle didn't take to it as well as the cheap stuff! andythechicken
Neil I am very pleased with your old Hornet, counted for nine rabbits this morning. Will start reloading soon after I get the gear later this month. Andy

al4x
pretty bad idea to be shooting at 300 yards with a hornet the drop is massive
Lez325
some people cannot on there life estimate ranges 300 yards is a long shot - even for a Tikka 222 like I own, never mind a Hornet Les
al4x
thats what I was thinking, even if I'd ranged it and was using my .223 I'd be thinking hard before taking it.
MerseaDavid
A .22 Hornet will kill a fox out to that range and abit long as long as you have the gun sighted right and you hit the fox in the right place. It will do it.
trxnav
its not what the rifle can do but the person behind i shoot .222 on the foxes and have taken them out to 280 yards as long as you are confident and know what ya rifle can do and your distances then there is nothing stopping you. With the .243 i generally dont shoot foxes over 150 yards!!! Its only a bad idea if you dont know what you and your rifle is capabale of.
