Going pigeon decoying next week, (on paid land) and need advice on what chokes to use on my o/u. Heard a guy mention that he uses 1/2 choke in his semi. Catamong Posted October 20, 2005 Report Share Posted October 20, 2005 Half choke is more than enough choke if decoying, especially if using 32gram loads. What I do is take a quarter choke as well, and if they start coming in fast & furious, change down to quarter. Good luck, hope the weather is good for you. Highlander Posted October 20, 2005 Report Share Posted October 20, 2005 At the range you shoot (most) pigeons when decoying open chokes will do the biz and if you're anything other than a top shot you'll have just a little more chance of hitting them B) There's a lot of b******* discussed about chokes and for most people shooting at standard ranges it don't matter a damn!
