Luckyshot
Went out to one of my farms tonight to find all the fields empty of sheep. They had all been taken indoors as they are due to lamb very shortly, this was good news for me as it ment I had 1000 acres of grass land to drive around and shoot. We set off at 06:00pm and lamped all the flat fields as I didn't want to take the defender upto the tops as ive never drove this farm before and I didn't fancy getting stuck on my first time. Once we got through the first gate my mate was using the lamp whilst I drove and shot. We saw quite a few rabbits sitting on the edge of the field so 5 shots later and 5 rabbits in the bag a good start for the night. We then drove down the field and through the next gate and there were more rabbits sitting outside a large set. I took another 4 rabbits before the rest of them ran off so I drove further down the field to a good spot where we normally see a good few rabbits and tonight was no different, there must of been at least 20 or so all sitting eating right out in the middle of the field. Once I had positioned the landrover so I could get into a good shooting position my mate put the lamp back on and I shot a further 5 rabbits for 5 shots, the others just seemed to sit there so I changed magazines for another full one and proceded to take a further 5 shots for another 5 rabbits was going great by now hadnt missed one yet. We then moved onto the other side of the farm and there was a rabbit sitting about 5 yrds infront of us so I got it in the scope and fired **** missed straight over its head first miss of the night (I can never hit the realy close ones) Driving to the bottom of the field I shot a further 4 rabbits for 4 shots. After these we decieded to make our way back to the farm for a cuppa and then head off home as we already have our freezers full so we didn't want to get too many but when we arrived back at the farm there were 2 rabbits sitting in the middle of the yard, loaded the gun up and I shot them both didn't need the lamp as the yard was lit up off the security lights so 2 hours lamping and 25 rabbits to show for it not a bad night and I didnt even have to put my coat on plus we were nice and warm for a change beats humping a battery around with you and having to carry all the rabbits on your back. So after our cuppa we stopped off for a pizza and was back in the house for 10:00pm pretty good result and an early night as were off out again in the morning. All shots were taken with my CZ 17 HMR a cracking tool.

poorwullie
Good stuff. As six rabbits eat the same amount of grass as one sheep you'll be well welcome back there. Especially at this time of year re the old rabbit breeding theory. Well done.
Luckyshot
Good job!!! What rounds are you using? none of them look too mashed? :o I always use Hornady red or blue tips 17GR V-MAX, some have alot of dammage on them so I turned the badly damaged ones over for the photo as I know some people dont like to see it.
