Pepe
They are vermin so you can shoot them. I find that you have to keep very still and well hidden when shooting them. Regarding patterns, I just put them on the ground randomly where they are feeding. I have had a go at lofting a few and this has worked very well. Some people use dead rabbits and bird of prey decoys but I have not tried this. I have just bought a call but not tried it yet. steve_b_wales
I shoot them all year round. When they are nesting, I try and wait for the crow to return to the nest, them hit it with some heavy shot, ie, SG's or BB's.

Patterns not as important your hide, it must be very good and you must stay in it, crows will spot you anywhere and they can count so treat them with some respect to shoot big bags. Langer
I find that a random decoy pattern works well. I have tried using a dead rabbit and this works well also. You have to cut the rabbit open and spill its guts though, so that the white of the skin catches the crows eye. They are also attracted to the colour red, so get some guts out too!! :o
sako751sg
All year rounds the way fella.Great way to cut the numbers is by shooting the young ones when they first come off the nest with the sluggers.Every carrion crow nest i see on my permission gets at least 32g of lead blowing its **** out. islandmartin
If I could add to the advice already given, a couple of mates of mine were given the task of 'dismantling' a rookery last year - birds, nests the lot. One shot the parents and the other then blasted the nests and young out. If the young are already leaving the nests its important to hit the adults first then get the young. They had a good day shooting anything that moved, the result being not many birds left! Their total bag:93. Hit 'em really hard and they won't return. markyboy
you talking crows, rooks or jackdaws? crow being the carrion? you can have a good day on the corvids, you have to be well set up so they dont spot you. but in all honesty im looking for good reasons to why i should go and wipe out a bag of rooks or jackdaws? if they are tearing up planted fields then fair enough. CZ550Kevlar
I have found putting a buzzard decoy out works a treat, crows seem to dive headlong in to try and chase it away which brings therm in nicely for an ambush.

Dead fox or a rabbit under a rotary with crow decoys fitted brings them in too
