Colster
Been offered a Tracer Max Pro or Tracer Mini for about £60 (with battery), I would want it for use on my FAC Air and .22LR. I assume the Pro bit means it has a dimmer and that the Max has a greater range (shorter battery life?) but is heavier? ... so which should I go for as also been offered a Lightforce 140 (ex demo model) for £65 - no battery

The Maxi is meant to have a 400m beam and the Mini a 250m beam! The Maxi Unit is much bigger than the Mini but weight wise there is VERY little in it. Yep, the Maxi uses more battery, but has the same lamp as the Lightforce 140 I believe, so they will be the same in theory. I have a Mini Pro, and a Maxi Pro, they do for me!! bennyblanco
I thought the deben lamps were both 50w so would use the same power, I could be very wrong:shaun: The max pro is an excellent light lamp and will keep being useful even if you move to bigger calibres, remember that you would really want a dimmer with the LF at airgun range and they are pricey. George1990
I'm sitting here waiting for City Link to bring my Tracer Max pro - look out the window every two seconds I'll be out with it tonight with any luck so will tell you what it's like
George1990
Very good I thought. Was really quite misty but still went to 150 easily with the red filter. Without the filter there was a lot of glare off the mist. Had a qick shine tonight with less mist and it goes a long way. Nice and light too (in weight i mean )and the dimmer is very good. Kit Monster
I have the mini on my air rifle and thought it was great until I saw the max alongside it. If it's going on a LR I would say no contest...Max all the way. Once you put a red filter on the mini you lose a lot of '250m' beam and personally find it's not sufficient for the longer range shots of an LR. And the dimmer is also a must for not spooking the closer bunnies. I'll be buying a max pro soon. Hope this helps.
