Otherwise known as "the ghost dog", lovely dog there mate"

I didn't actually know these were gun dogs

Yes they are a german breed originally bred to hunt wild boar but later also used to hunt birds and ground game. They work by scenting the ground like a spaniel in a way where the short haired pointer scents the air more. Weimaraners can also scent the air but mainly there nose is kept to the ground and tend to work an area with speed.

sounds like they work more like the GWP in that case, interesting to see as few seem to be allowed to work.

Indeed they are, and very versatile too. A member of the Hunt, Point & Retrieve gundog sub-group.

Nice dog mate. As you know you need loads of patience to train these lovely dogs but once they are trained they can make great gundogs. Mine is injured at the moment as last week while out rough shooting she went through a hedge and there was barbed wire and managed to get a nasty deep cut on her front leg which needed stitching up. Out of action for at least five weeks but she's on the mend bless her.
