Lead pellet vs steel bb

There is no comparison, the BB is a close range fun tool which was never designed for hunting.

You will still get a whack from one but I seem to recall they may get up around 300ft sec. Help me out here someone.

Whatever, their accuracy/power is nowhere near a 12ft lb air rifle pellet!

Am I missing something here, I thought CO2 steel bb air pistols fired at about 300 - 400 fps

just to clarify I mean a standard air rifle with lead pellet vs a smoothbore air rifle with steel bb.

5m.. really??

I wasn't planning to use for hunting, just plinking and was thinking of steel as its reusable, also another question was what's the best target for steel bbs as I've given up trying to build a containment for ricochets

How do pellets perform compared to round balls? - read this to find out.

Here is some more information on the BB

Just the thing I was looking for!!

Ill have to try out those lead GAMO BBs, I'm guessing the rifles used had rifled barrels.. in which case I'd think the BBs would be less accurate then a smoothbore barrel so the accuracy could be better then in that test even though it wasn't too bad anyway! :)

Thanks for the links, S, much appreciated :hmm:
