Can't you post another pic on here chris? vet won't be able to determine genetics without DNA testing pup and parents and even then the lineage beyond the parents is reliant on how true the pedigree is. Highlander
I don’t know about your dads reasonings but the dog world is open to abuse, trickery and out and out cheating. The KC have more than just (bad) breed standards to answer for...the pedigree registration process is wide open for any charlatan to abuse the system. Simply register whatever you like! It happens and I know of several dogs in this area that whilst having pedigree papers are patently NOT the right animal. Until they make DNA testing compulsory it'll continue. pegleg31
there's loads of mixed breeding going off, just look at the trialing dog's.there's no way that some off the racey looking labs are pure bred and i know a few that trial cocker's who know of other breeds being introduced. Highlander
Chris, what does it say on your papers sire and dam ect. Use as a guide only...these things are about as genuine as Jordans bits! Unless the line has been DNA tested for some generations (and even that can be fiddled) then you take the breeders word for it.

garyb
Spaniels do come in all shapes and sizes.... I'd say they vary a lot more than Labs. For example, I know of serveral Cockers (with good lines) that look more like a Springers, than a springer does itself! - yet they are all very much Cockers.
