Dunkield
On click check reels there is a pawl that will need changing to switch sides, you sounds like a disk drag reel though, I will have a look and see if I can find anything. Can you take a photo of the reel with the spool removed? that could be useful, if there is something to change it will be in there.
Aled
Don't suppose you've still got the instructions? If not phone the manufacture, the Leeda chap helped me over the phone, and the problem was solved within 5 minutes! Tight Lines Aled

That's true of the old click-ratchet reels, but as you say not always the case with new-fangled disc drag reels. It may be that the reel cannot be changed from left to right handed. A photo would help or loom in the sales blurb to see whether it is ambidextrous. Edited June 7, 2010 by UKPoacher
Dunkield
From what little there is on the web (they don't even seem to have a site) it says left or right hand wind. It's cheaper to make one ambidextrous reel so the chances are it will change over, there will be something that just needs turning over I would guess. wymberley
Sauer, hi. What with the shooting and sea fishing I could never justify the time or expense to go fly fishing as much as I fancied having a go. Last year for my 65th I took my sons and a mate for a 3 day course and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone has been again since. From my extremely limited experience, I reckon you know more than you think. For a start you know that you enjoy it and what more do you NEED to know. Anything else you (and I) learn as you go along is a bonus.
