KPV4
After submitting an application for an FAC, I was visited by the FEO, it has now been five weeks since his visit and I have received nothing as yet. I can't see there being any problems as I submitted 3 permissions a total of about 600 acres (all of which had previously been visited), and I have been a SGC holder for around 25 years with no convictions etc. The references were submitted the same week as my application, so I am presuming there is a wait for medical records etc, and delays in processing may be!! Any ideas how long this process can take?

steve_b_wales
A lot of the time, your application, even when granted, just sits in the 'out' tray on someone's desk. Give them a ring and very politely ask them for an update.
KPV4
Cheers guys, might give them a ring later for an update when I get home from work.
Colster
Every time I rang mine, something good happened shortly after... they don't bite

Give them a ring and very politely ask them for an update. Exactly - that's what happened to me too. Give them a call otherwise it eats you up - I know it did me! The telephone prompting helps them deal with yours as their next job - or in my case prompted a search of the office for my missing paperwork although their computer system showed it was all OK. In Essex they've had some delays due to retirements and new staff training - should be better by now or certainly in the short term. harv
You can collect, it saves them a stamp. I put a variation in last Monday 13:00 and collected It on Tuesday at 12.30 less than 24 hrs. Cleveland have got to be the quickest in the country? I reckon lots sit about waiting for an inspector to sign them after been approved? KPV4
Its a bit far to travel (about 2 hours) but I did ring today when I got home from work, and spoke to a very nice lady (your right they don't bite ) about my application. Apparently they are in the middle of a print run of FAC's and SGC's they and they have quite a backlog, Mine application was located and I was told hopefully the details will be pulled up tomorrow and then printed off as long as there didn't seem to be any problems. So hopefully its good news I can't wait, it seems an age since my visit. When it arrives I will be in the market for a 17HMR to start with (then hopefully a .223 at a later date) I am hoping to get a CZ Varmint with scope and mod, so I will have to start looking what kit is about.
