tungsten
I have just fitted a Carl Zeiss Duralyt scope to my Sako .308 using Sako Mounts & Rings. I have bore sighted the barrel, but when I look through the scope it is very low on the target. The scope come centred within the range of adjustment and when I try to adjust the scope up to the target there is not enough adjustmnet on the scope ****. Its fully turned up before the crosshairs are on the target???
al4x
check the rings aren't round the wrong way round
CharlieT
Did you check that the adjustment was actually centered.
Rem223
It is pretty hard to go wrong with optilocks. The two bases are different sizes so you can't fit them the wrong way round and in any event they are the same thickness. I would check and make sure you have two rings that are the same height. It is possible they have put a low and a medium ring in the package or something similar.
tungsten
The Sako rings are both medium and were fitting at the gunshop. Strangley the rifle came fitted with 30mm high Leupold ring mounts and as I could not get the cross hairs on the bore sighted target I hads them changed to Sako. So the problem has been with both.? al4x
have you got another rifle you could pop the scope on? it would be pretty unusual for a Zeiss scope to be out by that far. I guess not impossible but unlikely
njc110381
Either that or drop another scope into the mounts and see what's going on? You could use a packer in the rings if you're stuck but with a setup costing that much you shouldn't have to!
sunshinedave
Hi mate now I only had a Conquest 6.5-22x50 but the zero on that was not very centered in the adjustment at all! Infact, my zero (@100m on a .308) was halfway between the center of adjustment and full UP. leaving me with less than 1/4 total adjustment to dial the bullet drop - not ideal when the scope is 1" tube and didn't have much total adjustment in the first place. I did some Reading on the net and it seems I wasn't alone! Quite common infact on the Zeiss conquest. I wonder if it's a zeiss thing? I sold it in the end as I wanted to shoot 1000m an it wouldn't get me anywhere near! :( I got a Nightforce in the end.
tungsten
Hmmm not looking good!! when first tried to bore sight it there was only a total of 46 click from top to bottom. I called the supplier who tried one while I was on the line and he found over 100. He told me to try it again with a litlle more force. It did actually move past the stop and I did manage to get the 100+ clicks but its very tight and makes your finger sore turning it.
