Katash
The usual problem you'll get cycling ammo in a semi auto will be with light ammo as it doesnt generate enough pressure - BB loads tend to be very heavy so you should have no problems - Question is is the chamber a 3" or a 3 1/2"? A mate of mine has a 12 month old ish Hatsan S/A that he uses for clays, fires 28gr Eley First Fibre Wad & 28gr Eley Olympic Plas Wad but has the occasional jam. (I have a Fabarm S/A and that jams slightly less as most cheap SA's do - You get what you pay for!)

motty
Yes, you can fire bb's through your gun. You could try gamebore mammoth 63gm bb's. They are around 80 or 90p a shot. These should take down a fox easily at 40+ yards. You don't need bb's though, last fox i shot with a shotgun was with 6 shot- though it wasn't at 40 yards. I have seen more foxes wounded with small shot than anything else, I have even done it myself years ago and now ban my guns from shooting foxes with a shotgun and bird shot unless below 15 yards. These days I carry a couple of 36gr x3s Hevishot for foxy but a centerfire rifle is far more humane. A

You can use it to shoot close range foxes though. I knew of a game keeper once, who had claimed to have shot over 1000 foxes with his .410.
