I was just wondering why everone seems to use the T8 when the T4 will fit? :hmm: Do you get better noise reduction with the larger mod?

Cheers

I use a T8AR on mine and it isn't any noisier than the bigger T8. The AR is about the size of a T4 but with 8 baffles.

i used to use the t8AR but have recently switched to the p8 wildcat. although the t8 was a good moderator You couldnt clean it and get to all that water thats left behind after shooting.

wildcat all the way for me. i would never buy another t8 again

Dig deep and get an ASE Jet Z CQB, you will wonder why you even considered the others once you see one and use it.

i'll second that having shot Dunkields (and own a T8 & Pred 8)

The P8 COMPACT will do the job fine up to and including .308. It is a much better option then the full P8 in my book and although it has the same baffle stack as the full version the tube is shorter and it is much lighter.

I very rarely see any mention of this, it turns an adquate mod into a good mod! :)

i should have mentioned that i have the Pred 8 Compact Steyr Version (a great mod on my 6.5), but if i were to replace my T8 on my .223 (which i will when i rots), i'd replace it with a Jet Z CQB

Excellent VFM and a good package.

The Jet Z is well made and good too, but is a lot more expensive!

Decisions that the individual needs to make!

For me it came down to:

Do I need to be able to strip the mod - NO

Do I want something the size wheely bin on the end of my gun (T8 or P8, PES T12 etc normal size) - NO

Do I want a mod about the same sort of size as my .22 SAK, if it will do the same job as above job - YES

Right, that's simple I'll have a Jet Z then please mr RFD

Each to their own, no one ever said shooting is cheap.

I have a t8 scout on my .223 and jet z ultra compact on my 25-06.

The first thing I noticed was the jet z at half the size feels weightier and sturdier than the t8 superior/ thicker steel? And firing a round as big again as the .223 there is no noticeable sound difference to me therefore the ase is more efficient, I also think they are all overpriced!!!

ase are far from over priced. look in all the mag test they allways come at the top. now something what does that job. ye tis so small to the big over barrel mods is worth every penny

I couldn't give a toss about the mag tests they are all overpriced for a tube of steel with a few baffles inside.

Thanks for the replies :hmm:

IF I had the spare sheckles I would get one of the ASE mods for sure. I got a T4 ages ago and I was going to put it on my rifle but wanted to know what people on here thought of them B)

No one seems to even use one on here so should I move it on. Second hand value won't be great I can imagine :)

(I did try it on my HMR for a few hundred rounds to see if it was quieter than the SAK..wasn't much difference!).

will if thats the case dont buy them then and use ear defenders ;)

jamie, we all know everyone in business is there to make a living, and I have no complaints about any price anyone wants to charge, we make the choice to buy or not.

But I know what the Predator 8 basic trade price is and to say the dealer mark up is vulger is an understatement! Most Centrefire moderators are similar!
