J@mes
go hunting where? and what for? you need permission from the land owner to shoot on the land, but not necessarily a form!

Elby
Or just have verbal permission. No need for slips of paper. Always worth having it on paper, years ago plod decided it would be a good idea to wake one of my farmers at 2.30am to check for permission. Lost a good bit of ground after that. GRamsay
You should always have any permisions on paper, and carry it with you when you go out shooting, saves any hassles
jonesbach
never carry any paper with me...all permissions and licences are kept in file at home! if plod got a problem, he's going to have to follow me home to look at them. cant believe they woke a farmer at that time of morning..find something better to do. Than possibly arrest someone for armed trespass?? Christ, what qualifies as a big enough crime in your book? Treason? Vermincinerator
I always ask the landowner for written permission and provide a permission slip which they only need to read through and sign. I do have some verbal permission but that is only on a farm where i am a good friend of the owner If you have a closed condition on your FAC, IMO it would foolish to go shooting without your permission slips or copies thereof, i have copies with me at all times when shooting as well as my FAC and insurance details. Going shooting with out is just looking for trouble if you happen to get pulled up. Ian.

But if you are just ferreting or bushing with your dog ,The farmers phone number and contact details will suffice

Treason? Permission slip is at; http://www.basc.org.uk/en/utilities/docume...E03447E57CDBE3B Mark all my permission are with good friend and family so armed trespass doesnt even come into it!?! trespass is only the case if your not supposed to be there. like i said, plod can come home with me and i'd happily show him. some of the farmers i shoot for would look stupid if i asked for a written permission..they'd just say "send old booby up here, ill see to him"!lol! Vermincinerator
I think its a case of "by the book plod" could seriously #### up your nights shooting if you do not carry any documentation, FAC, permission slips and proof of insurance will go along way to preventing this. wyatt
Interesting converstation, we're assuming knowledge by the plod in all cases here. By their very nature they are suspicous and like to confirm facts, I could type up a letter of boll0cks and walk on to the nearest farm with my shotgun. Unless they check with the farmer to the authenticity of said letter they aren't any the wiser. Should we be required to carry a certain ammount of information? Certainly anything which helps my life easier or the plods job easier to stop then from taking excessive time to do their job can't be a bad thing. First thing you see on the telly when an Officer stops someone is they ask for ID. Currently and for the forseable furture there is no requirement to carry any when in public, however being able to pull out my driving licence which has my photo and limited personal details I have no doubt would speed up things. Personally, carrying licences, permission slips, insurance and other relevent documents isn't convinient the majority of the time but shouldn't be looked upon as a bad thing.
