Air rifle tuning ?

Hi there can anyone help me , have a BSA lightning .22 and it is starting to get a bit noisey and seems to have a bit more recoil.Have read some where about rifle tuning , can anyone tell what this entails and could i do it myself ?

sounds like you could need the breach seal replacing if its noisey- an easy enough task - your rfd should be able to supply seals etc

 

the increase in recoil?? now there you have me stumped- could you explain a little more?

hard to explain , but seems to be a "twang" of the spring as the trigger is pulled and dosnt feel right

ive just completely stripped my lightning xl tactical and used parts from gunspares. For instructions on how to strip it go to the v-mach website and view their instructions on how to fit one of their upgrade kits, these are spot on instructions, you will have to make a spring compressor though. I saw off the end of a c clamp screwed it to a board then screwed some wood blocks to hold the rifle then cut a notch in the end of a broom handle to compress the spring (you will understand if you do it yourself) in all honesty i would of taken it to a gun smith to have it serviced price permitting but non seemed to want to do it.

fit a gas ram system would be my answer to any springer .its as good has one gets
