Maori Haz
Evening Gents, I was just wondering if anyone here has an investarm shotgun (advertised in York Guns) because it looks a nice gun for such a tidy price. If anyone has any information i would just like to know if it is reliable and well built. Thanks in advance, MH

Catamong
MH, Mossy's dead right, don't be fooled by the sexy pictures. Save up a bit longer and get a Browning/Miroku/Beretta, you won't regret it. You will regret it if you invest in an Investarm. Catamong. mel b3
hi mh,i've got a 12b investarm o/u , i've had it around three or four years and it's never missed a beat ,it was around 7 years old when i bought it so it's over ten years old now, when i bought it their wasn't a blemish on it as the guy before me had only used it as a spare gun, but since i've had it it's fired probably 20,000 cartridges , it's never misfired but it did fire both barrels on one occasion just after i had first bought it but it's only ever done it once, it's very plain to look at and it's fixed choke, non ejector which suits me as i don't like crawling around for spent cartridges, i've owned far better quality guns but it's by far the best fit compared to any gun i've owned and i shoot better with the investarm than anything i've ever used before, i've used it for clays rough shooting and pigeon shooting, i paid £125 for the gun and with the pheasents , pigeons and rabbits i've shot with it i would say it's paid for itself ten times over so far and i would hope it's got a few years left in it yet , oh and it's taken it's fair share of foxes using bb carts, the investarm is starting to look it's age now but considering what i've done with it it's not too bad ,the stock has got a few dents and scratches and the barrel blueing has got a few scratches on it but the bores are as clean as a whistle and haven't got a mark on them, they had another one in the gunshop a few weeks ago but when i went in the other day it had gone,i could kick myself now for not buying it at the time , it may just be luck that the one i own has been such a good gun for me but i can only say i've found it to be fantastic value for money. sorry for the long boring post

mel b3
hi mossy , you're correct they are a folder but for me that's a feature that personally i like (easy to hang on barbed wire fences while i'm climbing over),i accept that they aren't the best build quality but i can only repeat that i've put around 20,000 carts through mine and it's still going strong(but i may have been lucky and got the only decent one they ever made),i can't comment on the cost of repairs as i've never needed any repairs doing to mine but again i may just be lucky mate , but to be honest for what i paid for it i can afford to throw it away and get another one, i know a lot of guys wouldn't be seen dead with a poverty model gun like an investarm and fair play to them if thats what they want, when i first bought it i only got it as a spare gun myself but after using it a few times i just started picking it up everytime i went out, it may just be that it's the only gun i've ever owned that fitted me correctly because as i said i had better quality guns before the investarm and i've had better quality guns since but i keep going back to it. choke it
well lads i have a 4/10 o/u which takes a 3 in mag and i've had it 12mths i never miss a lot with it. plus it's not the price of the gun that kills your game but the carts you use so if you had a holland and holland for £100 would that be ****
lanber1088
I bought a 20 bore for my lad when he was 11 great gun for a bit of rough shooting. But as the other lads say you get whot you pay for.
rarms
If it is anything like the investarms I have seen and used it will cock on the action of the top lock arm. When you open the gun you have to really make sure you push the lever fully across, past the point where the barrels open to the point where it clicks the pins back. I found this quite a knack, although strangely it bothers me less on my 12 bore hushpower :s
