Another CZ fan here! I was recently in your position and bought a .22LR Silhouette and am I mighty glad I did. I put a Nikko Stirling Gameking on it and a SAK mod and doubt I will ever part with it, I absolutely love it. One thing to remember, they are a whole hell of a lot more capable than you are, if you miss it's your fault!!

Whatever you get, enjoy it mate! :good:

another silhouette fan here too, got mine from eastern sporting which aint far from wickford, £525 complete with sights and moderator ???

I have 2 CZ Silhouettes (one in LR and one in HMR) both great guns that will do the necessary all day long.

Couldn't justify the extra for an Annie/Sako etc and more than happy with them both.

I find the newer CZ's have much lighter triggers than they used to but still a long creep. A SYSS or YoDave shim tube sorts that easy enough though.

CZ rimfire triggers settle in with time and become as sweet as honey with age, there have been quite a few instances of fiddlers making things dodgy so take care with s/h guns. I feel the rimfires get the bad trigger rep from some of thier c/fires with set triggers - the ones i have tried have been truely awfull when not in the set mode i am sure there will be odd ones with great triggers out of the box even in these though. The modern tendancy to turn field triggers into bench type triggers is to be avoided IMO

My local gunsmith removes the CZ trigger and polishes it then re-hardens it as he says this is much better than the aftermarket kits.

Unusual that he removes so much as to make it nesassary

He said some are OK out of the box but most require extra work to make them up to the standard of the rest of the rifle. He is a rifle specialist and manufacturer. TBH I don't know enough about them from a technical perspective to know one way or the other. Maybe the original hardness of the faces on the moving parts are a bit variable?

I did try some .22Lr triggers in Sportsman (Exeter) the other day. The Weirauch stood out as better than the CZ or Anni mechanisms. I was expecting the Anni to come out on top :good:
