Good Gunsmith?

He is a stocker by trade but has done some absolutely brilliant re-blacking jobs for me (traditional cold blacking) and he is a “Gunsmith” and not just a monkey in a shop, and will service your shotgun for you no trouble.

He has just threaded my Tikka for me for £30 (un-proofed) but unfortunately his engineer, who does the actual cutting for him, has terminal cancer and won’t be doing any more…..bloody shame as he is a decent man.

He is at the rear of Collin Wild’s place. Just go up the steel staircase and ring the bell with his name on it. Don’t know what he charges but he won’t rip you off and do a poor job.

Google 'Gunsmiths in Price Street Birmingham' ..

Its a slice of gunmaking history. I suspect the quality, values and craftmanship are as original as the buildings.

I had some work done by Colin Wild (Benjamin Wild & sons 1860) - also at 55 - and it was a pleasure just to go there.
