Cosd
Off to Vegas in the morning for 6 days, hopefully get to a gunshop while I'm out there and see what goodies I can bring back I've been pretty OK the last few times I've flown, but for some reason I'm feeling like a big girls blouse again thinking about the flight Edited August 27, 2010 by Cosd
AlistairB
Just concentrate on where you're going, that'll keep you happy - it's my favorite city in the world although the shine began to wear off last time - about as quickly as the money disappearing from my wallet! Spaniel
I dont have a problem with the flying its the air pressure on my ears which kill me. Got a perferated ear drum and the last time i went on a flight was 6 years ago and i suffered for weeks afterwards, infact i still suffer now off/on. We have 2 holidays booked for 2011 may and oct and im dreading it already enjoy your holiday

Guest gloker
Get in any cab in vegas and ask to go to the gun store on east tropicana. (about half a mile or so off the strip.) Or do what we did and hired a Harley for the day and find your own way http://www.lasvegasharleydavidson.com/ (there is a free bus to and from the store) The gun store isnt cheap but the wife fired a glock, a sig.45 and two mags through an mp5! If you can find the 'wheel of fortune' machine in the ballys/Paris casino its well worth a punt. I won $3000 on it!
AVB
I am meant to be going next April for a mates stag week. It's never appealed to me in the past but I hear that it's very popular for stag/hen do's. I've been to American casinos before in Colorado and New Jersey and I found then to be sad places. Full of trailer trash shoving quarters into slot machines. Anyway I'm sure I'll be kept occupied somehow Andrew

ME
I am going in February for 4 days. I have just added Harley hire and machine gun shooting to my list - while she goes to see a hole in the ground.
jonnyoftheboy
Just come back from 8 nights in vegas....(well it was supposed to be 5, but we were having too much fun and put the flight back 3 nights!) and when I could pull myself away from the craps table.... I too visited the Gun store, 2900 East Tropicana Avenue. (twice in fact). http://www.thegunstorelasvegas.com/gunrental.html i do not shoot anything other than clays when back in the UK, so it was fun to try something else.. well worth a visit... over the 2 trips to the gun store, I shot a 9mm glock pistol, 9mm ruger (not sure what exact ones!), an H&K MP5 twice (x2 lots of 50 rounds), M16, Sig Sauer 5.56 semi auto rifle, MP40 sub machine gun, & another semi auto rifle that I can't even remember! VERY ENJOYABLE. it opens at 9am, my advice.... get there early. for 9am if you can.... as it starts to get busy from around 9.45-10am, and then doesn't stop all day. worth coupling it with lunch at the supposedly "authentic" british pub - The Crown and Anchor - which is 1350 E. Tropicana Ave - as $20 in the bar poker machine gives you free lunch and a drink. as long as you "play through $20", you should get something back or may be even win.... so a cheap lunch! if you like to have a punt on the tables whilst you are there... but you are on a budget. go play at CASINO ROYALE, down from The Flamingo and just up from the Venetian, opposite side of the road to the mirage. on a mon, tues, weds.... most table minimums are $3. goes up to $5 on thurs, fri, sat & sun. (if you are a craps player... best odds bet on the strip... have 2 table that are x20 odds, and 1 table x100 odds). is only a small casino, and doesn't look much.... but if you're playing... drinks are FOC from the cocktail waitresses who come round (just drop them a $1) - although this used to be true in all casino's, we noticed that some were now even charging for drinks if you were playing (Caesars Palace for one). being a Vegas junkie (been 6 ort 7 times now)... pm me if anyone wants any advice on stuff. looking forward to my visit next Nov already! jonny
reedbradshaw
another thumbs up for the gunstore. I opted to shoot the WW2 package. Browning hipower, MP40, Thompson and more for circa 70 dollars...really good day out
reedbradshaw
just checked the website and either the prices have gone up or its more to book online (?) Still, you will have an ace time im sure!
nobber
I got back from Vegas a couple of weeks ago and also went to the gun store on east tropicana. It was great fun but get there early as queues can build up especially towards the weekend. Also well worth a visit is Outdoor World which is basically a blokes heaven all wrapped up into one shop (shooting, fishing, camping, archery). You can spend hours in there. It's about 3 or 4 miles out away from the MGM grand at the top of the strip. Check out the store here www.basspro.com You'll have a great time! snozzer
I had the displeasure of working in Vegas for a while, I went there for a week every 3 weeks for nearly a year, put me right of the place  after living in the MGM, Venetian, Mandalay and Caesars I was extremely happy when they opened Hooters Hotel only so I could get a bill with "Room Service" on it... John_R
The Crown & Anchor is good fun, there is at least one Brit working there too. It has a regular young crowd, the University is not far away. I go there a lot as it is also a regular haunt for the crews that work on the shows and conventions etc. (the only reason I go to Vegas, twice a year at the moment). The Basspro shop does have a shooting range behind the gun counter, if you know someone locally who can lend you a gun you can just go and pay by the hour. The shop itself cannot rent or lend one though.
