Lord Geordie
Hi Guys I have won an item (camper van) yesterday. I was away so replied to the seller today (about 24 hours) later and I have a reguest from him to cancel the transaction and his reason for this is I AM UNRESPONSIVE??:hmm: How many days are you given to complete the transaction as I was under the impression it was 10 days? I have rang the guy and left him my number and email address but am now playing a waiting game? Thanks
Guest gloker
He obviously didnt get the amount he wanted for it and is now playing silly *******! File a complaint with ebay (ringing them and speaking to a human is easiest. But If he doesnt want to part with it, there isnt a great deal you can do im afraid. I had an message off him dated yesterday asking me to give him details of when I will be collecting and paying for the van then today when I contact him there is an answer phone on his mobile and this request to end the transaction??? Guest gloker
If you agree to the transaction cancel request, he doesnt have to pay insertion or final value fees. If he fails to respond to emails and phone calls, report him to ebay and start looking for another camper. Its **** but like I say, If he doesnt want to sell anymore there is nothing you can do unfortunately.
Lord Geordie
having a chat with an Ebay person now they say he can't just cancel the transaction and if he does I have to report him. Yeah like THAT would make a difference
bruno22rf
If it says on the ad that its advertised elsewhere then he has a get out of jail free card-most likely scenario is that somebody was watching the item but did,nt want to get involved in a bidding war-he waited till the item ended and then p.m.,ed the seller and offered him a bit more-happens all the time. You should be able to get the sellers name and address thru ebay but i cant remember how you do it-when you,ve got it -let him know you,re on your way and will expect petrol money if the vans not there. Says NOTHING in the advert about the right to withdraw from sale. Like I say he claims I am an unresponsive ebayer for the sake of less than 24 hours? Just have to wait and see if he gets in touch
SXPhil
Saying its advertised else where doesn't get you out of it Don't agree to cancel at least he will have to pay fees but I agree start looking for another as you aren't likely to get this one
V8landy
If you agree to the transaction cancel request, he doesnt have to pay insertion or final value fees. The official ebay transaction cancelation route can not be started until 7 days after the sale, so this is obviously just a PM from the seller asking. As others have said, looks like you have not got it, best you can do is at least make him pay the sellers fees and then negative feedback. I just got through the the chap on the Phone and he says apparently his MISSUS found my contact details on ebay and rang up. Well this is an OLD phone number so god only knows who has it now? Rather than sending a Email or Message through ebay she just instantly put in a cancelation request? I had a word with him and told him I defo want the van and seems like I have to ring the transport company to collect but have to get the guys address first. I asked him politely if he could perhaps take it to an MOT station to find what it may need and he said NO I aint got the time!!!!! well I told him I would contact the transport company and get the van picked up and brought back to Newcastle from Oswestry. Now I just have to find the guys number again as I lost it The quote was 175 pounds so nt bad really but now I have to go through the internet history at my GF's to find his number again Oh well I will see what happens in the next 24 hours then I suppose
snozzer
If he didn't end the auction early and you made the highest bid that was greater than the reserve then you have won it. If he refuses to sell then he is in breach of contract, slam him with a small claims summons... You will win, he will lose and probably by this stage have to provide you with the goods or compensation for loss plus costs.
al4x
I reckon he nearly did you a favour, sounds like its a shed if he won't take it near an MOT station. If you can get hold of the reg number and number off the V5 then you can check if its recently had a nasty fail in its history http://motinfo.direct.gov.uk/internet/jsp/...ory-Request.jsp
