deejay
Hi Just been looking at getting me a new /second hand gun when my license comes through. But why are there so many CZ's up for sale and do I need to keep clear of these guns ,how about the hw60j and are there any other , first time set ups that I should maybe go for . Any help would be handy thanks Daz
apache
Because they are a decent gun and a decent price. This makes them popular and affordable as a first gun. People may decide to 'upgrade' later. Nowt wrong with them, except the trigger that you can fix for a tenner.
CZ550Kevlar
part of it as CZ`s are imported by edgars, the prices on CZ`s were really low a couple of years ago, then edgars whacked upto 30% on their rifles which sent the prices up, i know alot of people that have sold their guns at the new more expensive prices and taken the oppurtunity to trade up. This could be a very small part of it, on the other hand as said they do make a good gun, reliable, fool proof and all round worth having. I myself have a CZ452 Style in .17hmr and a .223 CZ527. malkiserow
The prices seem to be a bit wild...... The other day a chap sold a second hand one for £300, today I had a message from a RFD with new ones for less than that! Maybe they are old stock. I am interested to see what they go for at the Midland Game Fair next weekend
deejay
I am after a .17 if possible as I have heard that ih has a much flatter tragectory and are also believed to be safer as in terms of richochettes . Judging by the comments on the cz's this is looking like a decent option.

Much twaddle is talked about the triggers the rimfires are ok and they get sweeter and sweeter with age and use. Some home blown CZ trigger kit jobs are poor at best and dangerous at worst so be carefull. Many work on the trigger before they have even tried the gun with std out. Buying a more expensive gun won't buy you anything more accurate
al4x
People also buy them without actually having much shooting. The HMR is less of a plinking toy and more a vermin control tool, great on rabbits and winged stuff and pretty handy on close foxes. CZ's tend to shoot well and with a few little additions are a perfect tool, mine has the trigger done and a few other bits and well I don't tend to shoot much on paper but it kills most things you point it at. Having lent it to someone who had close to 10 headshot rabbits on the trot and a magpie its an easy effective tool to use, with none of the worrying that goes with a .22lr with its loopy trajectory and ricochets
