flash
have a 6x40 scope on the .22 and a 3-9x40 scope on the airgun and want to swap them over so the rimfire has a better magnification. is it ok to put a Hawke airgun scope on a rimfire or will the recoil(i know its almost non existent) ruin the scope beyond use. please help. flash
Ferret Master
Hi, What scope is it mate? I would think it is fine because an airguns recoil is far harsher on a scope than a rimfire. FM

gibby
i would say its fine aswell, have done it many times before, no effect. In my opinion i would keep the fixed magnification on the rimfire, 6 magnification is the ideal setting for a hunting scope. Sargeant Bang
Flash It's usually fine, especially if the word Hawke is in the name of it. Many people use air scopes on rimmys, Hawke are one of the top names. You just don't want it shaking the thing apart is all. But a 70 - 80 - 100 pound scope will be fine as a rule.
