Guest cookoff013
got some wads looking for advise now as the wads i have are to short what is best nitro card under the wad and on top of powder or cork packers in the shot cup??? fruit loop, what are you reloading and what is the wads? is the wad too small for the pellets? or is there not enough room in the shell. whats the finish? crimp or turnover? usually fibre stacks go in the plastic wad to lift the height of the shot column. fruitloop
hi the colum hight is not high enough so the crimp is folding in on its self and letting all the shot fall out i dont know what the wads are as i got them at the right price as a bag of wads no info on them. and it is no 6 shot 1oz with 20.4gr tight wad powder.if that helps in 70mm noble and eley first hull. still working on that shot maker but having problems with it sticking to the ramp and making blobs but its all trile and error. Andy H
still working on that shot maker but having problems with it sticking to the ramp and making blobs but its all trile and error. Polish the ramp to a mirror like finish and use welders chalk or graphite spray on it ,Also if the ramp is not hot enough it will stick and form blobs. Andy H
I bought the drippers from Littltons in the states and made my own shotmaker . on the subject of spacing out your shot load quite a few Americans use Cherios in the bottom of the shotcup and it just disintigrates on firing. fruitloop
drill bits for drippers from hear http://www.rdgtools.co.uk/ 0.3 to 1.6mm Edited October 3, 2010 by fruitloop
sitsinhedges
drill bits for drippers from hear http://www.rdgtools.co.uk/0.3 to 1.6mm Only good for drilling toffee. You want to drill stainless bolts (set screws) and only best quality Dormer/Guhring etc are up to the job and then carefully in a drill press or mill in a vice with adequate lubricant. For the larger hole down the centre of the bolt you want cobalt drills of around 4mm (you can't get these in sub mm sizes for the dripper holes.) Nobody knows more about this than Floating Chamber and he loves to chat on the phone as well as type out loooong explanations on 'tinternet so don't be shy to ask him He's our very own shotmaking Guru

SA Shooter
shall we form a "swapshop" type of thread? most of us usually have something lurking in the cupboards thats never going to see daylight again, -let alone a gunbarrel. think its a good idea? mainly thinking wads, shot, buffer, etc... On this topic where can i get hold of lead shot for reloading?

Floating Chamber
has eny one got a load recipe fo 20g vectan as powder with 7/8onz load as i cannot find eny on the net You must mean '20 grains'; 20g means 'twenty grams'. You seem to have solved it already. (unless you mean 20gauge!) Edited October 18, 2010 by Floating Chamber
