tenbears10
Ben Bradshaw, the animal welfare minister, indicated after listening to the opinions of MPs in the Commons committee considering the Animal Welfare Bill that he would be introducing a statutory instrument banning the practice of docking at the Second Reading of the Bill. They didn't ask anyone who knew what they were talking about then?
Wookie
Why change the habit of a lifetime? Further examples may well include: Banning handguns, ID cards, etc For a group of people that are elected to represent us, they don't seem to be representing us that well. lurcherboy
Fortunetly there are sensible vets around that will dock working dogs if requested. LB
browningstalker10g
u hit the nail on the head there, the jews with circumsision, they havent banned that, so why ban docking the tails of working dogs, its alot more cruel if a working dog breaks its tail, my pointers tail is docked and she dosent miss it, and shed look weird with a full length tail, its another example of city dwelling mp's telling us how we should live, the state of polotics makes me sick

old rooster
Docking has got to be more inhumane than halal butchery then ? The only reason the "powers that be" dare take on issues like this is that it is aimed at a minority group (us !) and has no ethnic implications. My pup has a docked tail and it doesn't seem to have any ill effects from it, on the contrary once its under a load of dense cover its less likely to get hung up.
