libs
Great with 3" loads, kills like a 12 but far from 'silent' I use mine mostly for walking about when there is horses turned out or near houses. And of course, for culling ferrals around stock with 2.5" loads which are practically silent.

Pippin pup
Ive got a Mossberg 410 with a mod on.( Which is home made) Its a great tool especially around the stables, but keep the range down to no more than 30 yards. (having said that ive brought some crows down which were well high!) Ive tried most carts through it and the most quiet are the Eley Fourlong 12.5 gram. Sounds similar to a Springer air gun Dont bother with the 3" Eley Subs as they make quite a crack. Regards PP
njc110381
I just bought one today and I'm really pleased with it! They're not silent by any means but are certainly quieter than a normal shotgun. I fired mine in the garden, my dad was in the house watching the telly not 20 feet away and he didn't notice. The best description of the sound that I can think of is like hitting a baseball with one of those aluminuim bats.

libs
thanks for the info guys went out and got one today new £330 wood stock going to try it out tom just need to sort out how im going to fix the lamp to the barrel Good stuff, not a bad price either. If you are shooting 2.5" keep the ranges sub 20ish yards, its a really gappy pattern past that and unless your are very lucky its not going to kill anything. If you use 3", depending on your ability with the gun you can shoot out to 30ish quite confidently, but remeber for most people thoese guns shoot low so get on a patter plate and you may find you have to purchase a comb raiser. Ohh yea, be ready to miss a lot, it really does take some getting used to swinging that drain-pipe about!

Guest gloker
what he said for attaching a lamp. I got mine from dealextreme. took about ten days to get here. I ordered a WF501b torch (mega bright) pressure switch to match and a couple of the nylon/velcro lamp holder thingys. all in it cost about $15 free shipping. bargain

I drilled a hole in the base of my mini pro lamp and just cabled tied it over a piece of neoprene to the barrel. Not pretty but does the job fine.
