Hi All

Having just retuned back from an night walk around a local golf course where I have pest control permission,

I was wondering if anybody has had the problem of coming across a group (4) with lamping gear , guns and dogs  :look: and if so what was your action??

Regards

more to the point what was urs?

Hi roadkill

From a distance I asked them if they had premission  I told them that I had been watching them for a while through my hand held NV :look: and when they did not reply :good: I asked them to leave the area or I would ring Mr Plod and report them, they left without any fuss.

My action would be call plod first and keep watch until they arrived if they had a right to be there all would be fine if not you have sorted a problem for your safety (and others) as you dont want cannons out on your patch at any time. I dont give a dam about what happens to them if they are commiting armed tresspass its folk like that that get us bad press as they dont play by the same rules we abide by...........

simple answer is ring it in to whoever gave you permission to make sure they didn't let anyone else on the ground. Second move is I wouldn't watch anyone lamping with an NV device after someone ** a badger watcher who was obviously looking at them. I'd be lamp on arms waving just to ensure safety.

Have you spoken to the greenskeeper to ask if anyone else has permission?

the greenkeeper would be my 2nd call............ like i said if all is in order gen shooting folk wont have a problem i take it GB thouht he was the only one so anyone else is armed tresspass and an idiot(s) who needs to go to jail

Definitely!! had this trouble on my uncles farm once..lamp straight on, shouted to get attention. at times like this, last thing you want to be is quiet in the hedge! if they aint supposed to be there they prob dont think twice about identifying what is in the sights or a backdrop! If on the other hand they are allowed to be there, then you need to have a word with green keeper and let them know the dangers of two people shooting at the same time!

Hiya, There was an article last week in our local paper, about something similar...seemingly there were two guys shooting on a local clubs land, they were reported, Chopper and Armed response showed up, they are now the subjet of a report to the Procurate Fiscal about firearms offences.... ???
