harv
Owned 2 a 308 yrs ago and currently a 25-06, considered to be a cheaper alternative in the states but I don't know why they claim to be the most accurate out of the box rifles produced in America and both mine shot sub moa. The only addition as with most factory guns us stick a trimney trigger kit in but most now come with their accutrigger.

Thanks, harv. I'm looking at their model 40 which has the accutrigger and now also (I'm told) the accustock as well but this contradicts the info. on the Savage website so am waiting for confirmation. jamie g
if i was looking for a factory cf rifle again i wouldnt think twice about the savage rifles. the write ups on them are second to none. for accuracy. i think the big winner of the savage rifles is they offer a good trigger and stock as standard. unlike some of the remmy which have heavy triggers and the stocks flex inless you get the top of the range ones with h&s stock

Just out of interest, I have reason to believe that there could just be a push on these in the UK shortly but happy to be proved wrong as ever. humperdingle
I've got a 60's Savage .22wmr/20 bore combination gun. It's certainly solid. Not sure about the current production models as I haven't used or handled any. Accuracy on the rifle is pretty good for an old gun. Trigger is a bit heavy, though. neil smith
I have the 110FP in .308 which I bought new way back in 1996 accuracy is still superb. N
the running man
Hi phil,I was always led to believe that savage rifles were on par with sako, now I don't or have never owned one but. 2 guys down our club shoot f class with them very well. They are long lasting, desirable, modern looking, accurate (I'm told) and considered universally in the target world as value for money, compared with an ai or rpa or the new one timberwolf. Good luck. No problem exists! Model 40 (there's good reason for the choice, won't suit everyone but it's what I want and I'm paying for it!). Thanks, mate. marcyboy
The .308 BAS10 is an awesome looking piece of kit! I've seen one in action at 600yds Bisley shooting very cheap Norinco ammo & it was shooting very well. I havn't shot one yet but i'm looking forward to having a go sometime soon
stevethevanman
I have had some trigger time with the Savage Weather Warrior, and at 100yds it put 5 shots into an inch, so it will get the job done for stalking or similar game ..if you reloaded im sure you could get smaller. But you really want to buy a higher end savage to avoid all the flexing fore ends, after feeling: Steyrs, Remingtons, Tikkas, Savages, Sakos ect... Tikka are by far the best made for cost, you have to buy a high quality Remmy before you dont get its inherited problems, also if you swap out to a McMillan stock, it can become a true "snipers rifle"... In .308 Savage makes a 10FP line which for the money is supposed to rival the 700P with accuracy Steve
